It's kind of smart stripping TAFKA Prince Andrew of his titles bit-by-bit because it gives us a chance to go "wait, he was given a MILITARY RANK?! For his BIRTHDAY???" that we'd miss out on if they just yanked them all at once.

That Amazon advert where they're like "it knows what I want before I do!" is so fucking dystopian. If it knows what you want before you do, it's because *it's telling you what you want*. We're being manipulated by a fucking calculator and we're supposed to be happy about it. I hate it here.

Honking the horn on your car is, generally speaking, not racist. But if someone is holding a sign nearby saying "honk if you hate foreigners", it most likely is. Putting up an England flag is, generally speaking, not racist, but...

It's odd that Swedish Chef is having a bit of a renaissance amidst conversations about harmful stereotypes, but it kind of makes sense. He hits the same "haha funny voice" notes as other stereotype characters but without the teeth of systemic racism behind it. Like a nicotine patch for racism.

Music apps should have a "random" order in the library view. Curated/alphabetised views get too repetitive but just doing shuffle like an old iPod is too chaotic. I wanna shuffle all my albums, have a look at the ones at the top, and pick one I vibe with.

MAGA lawmakers are now pushing a bill to criminalize homelessness in D.C., threatening those who sleep outside with imprisonment. The measure would give Trump greater power to disappear the city’s homeless population under his military occupation of Washington.

Odin offered a giant Freyja's hand if he could build a wall around Asgard in a tight timeframe. When the giant was almost finished in good time, Odin had Loki transform into a mare and lure the builder's horse away. Loki bore the horse a son: Sleipnir.

I'm about half way through Andor s2 (no spoilers pls) and while there's a lot of interesting character development, my favourite is that Cyril is gradually dressing more cunty the longer he spends in Space France

Kanye was like "I'm a black skinhead" and we were all like "that's an interesting concept, like taking the anger and aggression of white supremacists & applying it to the struggle for black liberation?" and he was like "no lol"

Prediction: the Nаzi salute will become common within 2 years. RWers will half-аss it for plausible deniability, memeify the backlash, then start fully doing it "as a joke" "to troll the libs" "for being hysterical enough to think we were doing it in the first place"

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too.
EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them.

It's weird that we call the people who formulate plans (and not the people who execute them) the "executive" branch

What’s the point in refusing citizenship to refugees who have ‘made a dangerous journey’?
What’s the point in publishing footage of people being deported?
I’m sorry to say that this is simply a continuation of the performative cruelty we saw from the Conservatives.

The problem that Labour might be forgetting is…
the Tories DIDNT win.
I don’t think appeals to conscience will have impact, they haven’t done something this horrible by mistake.
The question is only if they’ll win.
If there really is only appetite for cruelty or more cruelty in politics. #r4today

Denying refugees citizenship simply on the grounds that they arrived here “illegally” on small boats *when there are no legal routes* for most to use takes cynicism to new heights. If Govt thinks such performative cruelty will see off Reform, they’re wrong - it’s more likely to strengthen it

Labour is upping the ante on anti-migrant politics just to learn that Farage & the Tories can always, always go further than them.
It’s real people who are caught in the crossfire of politicians trying to outdo each other on toughness.

Nottingham has a proud tradition of solidarity. We look after each other and we don’t fall for con artists playing divide and rule.
So, in our hundreds, we showed the small anti-trans march that their views are not welcome. Their movement is a danger to trans people and women.

Do you think there are eugenicists who are also new earth creationists? Like "God created the earth and animals and plants just as they are now, species don't change over generations according to selection pressures, however...."
