Labour has let London down yet again.

The Government has refused to fund vital infrastructure for our city, offered nothing to our struggling hospitality industry, and chickened out of seeking the new Customs Union with the EU our economy needs.

My thoughts are with all those affected by the truly horrifying scenes unfolding in Hong Kong - including anyone in our wonderful Hong Konger community in Sutton who might have friends and family impacted by this tragedy.

Hong Kong fire: At least 13 dead as more than 700 firefighters tackle blaze
The fire has engulfed a number of buildings, with flames spreading on bamboo scaffolding. At least one firefighter is among the dead.

Our statement on the #Budget: Sadiq Khan has failed to get the support our city desperately needed and Labour has turned its back on London.

Less than impressed with this "announcement". So no idea whatsoever how much money the Treasury will actually invest in the DLR extension. The Mayor is on his own to fund it

Yesssss! It's confirmed (at least in the OBR's release). The two child cap is gone! Lib Dems have been calling for this for so long because this will lift so many thousands of London children out of poverty.

Been visiting many London LibDem AGMs this month. Tonight I ended the evening with the @southwarklibdems.bsky.social - what a fabulous turnout.

Thank you to all the amazing councillors, members, activists and candidates who are working incredibly hard in our capital city!

A fantastic visit to Poplar Fire Station to see LFB training & how it enacts its fire contaminants policy across its estate.

A big thank you to Richard Tapp, Borough Commander, Tower Hamlets, & his team for being so open & transparent.

My smile says it all! 😁

Always enjoy our regular catch up in #WestBarnes and managed to miss most of the rain this time.

Residents are very appreciative of the fact we are checking in and updating them on local issues.

A fantastic morning on the LDCRE action day in Rayners Lane. #London wants change and the #LibDems are the positive alternative to bring communities together.

After many months of campaigning across London I can see the Labour vote is shifting in #London. The #LibDems are the proven local champions who are the credible alternative in the city. We are bringing communities together and working hard for local residents. #VoteLibDem

Brrrr it’s cold and it’s raining but despite that the @mertonlibdems.bsky.social are getting a warm reception in #WestBarnes and having a nice break at Prologue Cafe.

Main local issues have been the gas holder development, road maintenance and speeding cards.

It’s been a cold week and the days are getting shorter but the work continues in the London Assembly to make sure we are amplifying all voices in London in City Hall. 👇🏽

Great to see Lib Dem council leader Barry Lewis making the case for proper investment in Sutton transport links: www.mylondon.news/news/south-l...
Council leader calls for Crossrail 2, Overground and Tram extension, more buses

It's concerning the Mayor doesn't even seem to realise he's missing his accessible housing targets. But his failure to deliver these desperately needed homes is a huge problem for disabled Londoners and we've got to see the Mayor make this a priority from now on. @inclusionlondon.bsky.social

The Mayor has consistently missed accessible housing targets when it should be at 90%.

The Mayor could use the £322m City Hall Developer Fund to increase accessible homes in #London. And commit to genuine co-production on housing policy.

Very welcome news on DLR extension - but will the Chancellor be putting any actual money behind it? And what about the Bakerloo extension and West London Orbital?🔽

This #TransDayOfRemembrance we remember with sadness the lives lost to anti-trans violence and hate. Trans people are on the frontline of a dangerous and dehumanising culture war. We must stand with this community and continue to fight for their rights to safety and dignity.🏳️‍⚧️

There is currently no Women's Health Hub serving any Primary Care Network in Merton.

Tonight, we’re asking Merton Labour when women in our area will have the same access to specialist women’s health services as they do in other boroughs.

Merton is the only borough in South West London without a Breast Cancer Screening Centre.

Tonight we’re asking Merton Labour what progress has been made on this delivering this, using funding allocated 3 years ago.

It’s shocking that uptake for free NHS Health Checks in Merton is barely half the London average.

Councils have a responsibility for residents’ uptake.

Tonight, we’re asking Merton Labour how this rate can be improved.

Merton doesn’t have a Women’s Health Strategy.

Merton’s Local Health & Care Plan 2022–24 doesn’t mention women at all.

Tonight, we’re asking Merton Labour & Merton Tories to back our plan to make women’s health a priority.

Liberal Democrats are fighting to save the high street AND cut your cost of living.

Our plan would cut your energy bills, slash VAT for hospitality, and put £270 back in your pocket.
