If you grow up poor there are two ways that one usually goes:
A) you save every damned penny. You still go without so you can save those extra pennies "in case"
B) you save nothing because you finally have money and it belongs to you, so you spend it

Had a friend, 30 and healthy (this was pre covid), get bitten by a rattlesnake and immediately taken to the hospital, was laid up for almost 3 weeks.
And cobras are more venomous than rattlesnakes
