[Judge Ellis] repeatedly found testimony by Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino... not credible. Bovino was evasive, either giving “cute” answers to attorney’s questions or outright lying, the judge said in her [233-page] ruling.

Throwback to that time when Dana Loesch — identified by Bari Weiss as an example of a charismatic, good-faith voice on the center right — called me “thirstier than a broke chick on OnlyFans.”

Still think we should have put it on the book jacket.

At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

i’d been waiting for a good piece on this development
NEW: When Propecy Fails is one of the most famous social psychology books of all time, a look at a small group of UFO believers when the “spacemen” failed to land. I wrote about a new study from an independent researcher who says the book is not what it seems. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
It’s one of the most influential social psychology studies ever. Was it all a lie?
A classic book on UFO believers and their "cognitive dissonance" after aliens failed to land is called into question.

the piece finally comes around to “he isn’t really processing these studies, hasn’t heard anything i’ve said, doesn’t actually want to have a dialogue and explicitly said how he would dismiss me,” which raises some questions about the existence of the rest of the piece

Unfortunately, I can confirm that this is true.

I have known Carl for 2 decades and he is smart, dedicated, and quite apolitical, focused on science and getting stuff done on important problems.

Huge unnecessary loss of leadership and expertise.
Hearing news that Carl Dieffenbach, the Director of the Division of AIDS at #NIH (NIAID), has been removed from his position because he was "not aligned with HHS/OMB."

Russell Vought continues to remove great scientists as part of the Project 2025 mission to politicize and destroy NIH.
