Hello! I run two little online shops:

- one for WW2 anoraks, selling mugs and stickers with tank insignia on them: uktankmarkings.redbubble.com

- one for LGBTQ+ nerdy people, selling mugs and stickers with gaming-themed pride flags on them: growsler.redbubble.com

Polmont railway station is a 15min walk away, with frequent trains to Edinburgh and Glasgow. We've had quite a few guests arriving by public transport or taxi, and we aren't averse to picking up guests from the station ourselves as we're usually on-site. Aldi & takeaways 5mins walk.
Oh this is so lovely. You probably need a car to get there, which rules it out for us non-drivers, but just look how perfect this place is for children, grownups and pets! If you're going to Scotland check out @hosholidays.bsky.social
We're a not-for-profit holiday site in Falkirk, Scotland, set up to fund maintenance of a listed building and mental health work. We have six quirky glamping lodges, each sleeping 4. One unit has special features for people travelling with cats, another for dogs.

Update on this: all units now have heated towel rails. The bathrooms are quite toasty now!
We started on a shoestring budget, and now a year in we're able to add the extras we've always wanted. Today we're getting new pet blankets, and, more importantly, heated towel rails! That's a bit of a project but all the units will get them over the next few weeks as and when we can.

This time last year we visited the Christmas market and fayre in Edinburgh. There were many stands selling crepes too - you can't improve on banana and nutella.

The Kelpies are one of Falkirk's top attractions, and they look quite spectacular after dark.

I may be biased, but the Cat Cabin is always best when it has cats in it.

Happy Hallowe'en! We have six groups sheltering with us from the ghouls tonight, but after this it all gets quieter. Coming up in Falkirk is the big fireworks display on 5th November, always a good time, or just drive up the hills and watch all the small displays below you.

Tram consultation goes live today
Following a decision by the council to consult on two options for the part of the tram extension in the north of the city a three month long consultation will "go live" at 5pm on Monday on the council website. Whether or not to extend the tramline is no longer in debate. It is the route which is being debated - and only in respect of the southern part of the route from Roseburn (where a spur was created on purpose during the initial build for any northward extension) to Granton where a regeneration project is by now well underway.

A new campaign group "Tram Trains for Edinburgh" has been formed to promote the use of tram trains on the South Suburban railway and on the existing Edinburgh tram lines. The group explains that a Tram Train is a light rail vehicle that can provide passenger services on both tram tracks in a city street, and on a traditional rail line.

Been doing some stats, this August has been our busiest period ever, more than 80% occupancy, and with the 14 days from 4th-17th August at 97%! Thankyou to all our guests, I don't think we ever expected to be this busy!
