Hard to believe that 1970s TV execs were so sexually repressed, but this is just the sort of thing that led to Daisy Duke having to wear pantyhose.
Playboy's October 1978 Playmate Marcy Hanson intro page showing her in a very patriotic red, white, and blue roller skating ensemble. When she (Marcy Hanson) appeared as Playboy's October 1978 Playmate she discussed acting on the show Roller Girls. She said that NBC's Standards and Practices were so strict that her contract required her to put band aides over her nipples, to wear a bra, over which she wore a leotard, and then her costume. She said that it was so uncomfortable that after the first week, she refused to wear anything but a bra and costume and no one seemed to notice the difference.
