Watching the racist loons in the UK talking about how they aim to save the British Isles, it seems particularly timely to repeat a simple fact you may not be aware of.

Ireland is not a British isle.

While I can't be 100% sure, I believe the Hummer that we charged today in LA was the first one on DockChain. (stock photo from GMC). It ran quite well.

To quote the youtuber, that's "Super easy. Barely an inconvenience."

Off to the US of A for a few days. You'll never guess where.

Two videos commenting on AI. One rather serious and informative which concludes that no, TSMC is not killing AI.
The other is a nice funny yet commentary on what AI doesn't do. Both good and bad.

Gotta say that I don't find any of this comical.

Not on my part. And I doubt it's a skills issue on his part either.

It's still not an answer in simple language.
February 1, 2026 at 3:07 AM
No. It's really not.

What it is, is not simple language in answer to the question.

Maybe the next set will use vertical panels and then the land can be used for solar and farming.

It's as if she doesn't understand the (supposed) idea of religion. Eternal truths handed to us by god, and all that shite.

As for the robots, let's see how Tesla and Boston Dynamics (Kia) and Xiaomi and the rest do too.
January 31, 2026 at 2:44 PM
People are, I think, reading too much into the end of Tesla X and S production. They're old, expensive models with low sales. There's no mystery. The only mystery is why they're persisting with the Cybertruck.

Oh man...calculus rocks. Differential equations are how the world works man!

They can also be bastards (or impossible) to solve analytically, which is where computers step in.

Meantime here in Western Europe we're sitting in nice warm living rooms and still buying Russian gas.

What's a "good programmer"?
January 31, 2026 at 2:25 PM
And also statistics/probability (even effing information theory)

Two datapoints does not necessarily constitute a trend.
January 31, 2026 at 2:23 PM
Indeed.

And though most leavers don't actually want the empire back (they're not THAT deluded), it is still there in the back of their minds. And not that far back.
January 31, 2026 at 2:21 PM
I do not doubt it.

I do wish more people (a LOT more) did courses like it.
January 31, 2026 at 2:20 PM
though you also get to realize how much more you're still missing.

Two thoughts...
1. Dutch can really be a beautiful language. You might think differently....and you're wrong)
2. One of the great things about understanding more languages is that you get access to so much more culture....

Sorry if this is a silly question....is that Chomsky sympathizing with Epstein?
January 31, 2026 at 1:50 PM
It is always interesting. Britain, Britain, Britain, but never "the UK".

And, indeed, "Brexit" itself. Though that did turn out to be accurate.
January 31, 2026 at 1:48 PM
(to be clear...that's a sort of "not a lot of call for that in society these days!" kind of response)

The USA is a single state. It barely cares about Canada and Canada has eff all influence. The EU is not a single state and the UK was one of the most important members.

As for Empire and 1940, that's simple. British nationalists take credit for the empire. They never give credit TO the empire.
