Serves me right for being an optimist.

The conditions that have led to what’s happening in the US today exist in democracies around the world.
They are an inevitable outcome of our collective failure to adapt to fundamental changes in the information ecosystem on which our democracies were originally built.

Everyone agrees something needs to be done about our total dependence on US clouds. But what? And who should do it? . Here I present a coherent actionable strategy that is concrete enough to disagree with. This reads well with the latest Euro-Stack letter also: berthub.eu/articles/pos...
A coherent European/non-US cloud strategy: building railroads for the cloud economy - Bert Hubert
In the earlier post ‘But how to get to that European cloud?’ I alluded to a coherent strategy that might get us to such a non-US cloud. In the present article I hope to clarify what this could mean, a...

🧵 THREAD: A federal whistleblower just dropped one of the most disturbing cybersecurity disclosures I’ve ever read.

He's saying DOGE came in, data went out, and Russians started attempting logins with new valid DOGE passwords

Media's coverage wasn't detailed enough so I dug into his testimony:

Lovely words from Simon Ostrovsky.

I spoke with him for my first documentary about #Ukraine and we appeared on a round-table panel event in #Kyiv too.

His reporting was superb covering the initial 2014 invasion by #Russia.

Have incumbent car makers been asleep at the wheel?

16 out of the top 20 models are either Tesla or Chinese.

Will established brands ever be able to catch up?
