I’ve decided I’m going to use Bluesky the same way I used Twitter in 2008; posting dumb shit while under the influence most of the time.
Our daughter is in her school choir, which means we got invited to last nights large choir/band performance where all six elementary schools (plus the high school) put on a performance together.

I see our Conservatives here in BC have approached their leadership troubles with a level of professionalism and straightforwardness that will resonate with the electorate, instead of trying to boot their leader via a shady loophole that will end up as a protracted legal battle.
John Rustad insisted he’s still the leader of the B.C. Conservatives Wednesday even after a majority of the party’s MLAs said they had lost confidence in him and the party announced the appointment of Trevor Halford as interim leader.

I’ve been trying to catch up on the provincial government news in BC today and the only conclusion I have reached is that the BC Conservatives are acting like overtired children.

If I’m understanding this, the courts appear to have found that porosity can be privately owned. But… fluids move freely through those void spaces and care not about property boundaries and alike. This entire thing just makes my head hurt.

I don’t use Spotify, so you’ll just have to trust me that I spent a lot of the year listening to Radiohead, Run The Jewels and PJ Harvey.

I was expecting this letter to be impactful, but it wasn’t. Are there no great writers available to prepare letters like these? Can we find an out of work journalist or script writer who really knows how to write the hell out of their topic for this stuff?

lol, I was just thinking about how a) I know I have seen at least the original avatar movie and b) have zero recollection or memory of what happens in the movie.
I’m gonna go see it in the theater with my kid and it’s going to be three hours of perfect entertainment and I will remember nothing about it two days later
it's that time of year when a bunch of people start pretending their personal distaste for the avatar franchise can bend reality in their favor against the inevitable tide of james "big jim" cameron's next guaranteed blockbuster smash hit. you can ignore them, they are fools

I worked on the TMX file for 8 years and I can confidently tell you that pipeline pissed a lot of people off. People who wanted it were angry at how long it took it build, people who hated the idea still hate the implementation, tax payers in general hate how much it cost.
Has any prime minister ever gotten less political value out of a giant investment than Justin Trudeau got from TMX? Obviously environmental groups/voters were never going to like it, and most everyone else just pretends it never happened because it complicates the narrative.

After decades of watching I have come to the conclusion that I simply do not understand what is or is not defensive pass interference in the NFL.

We would have some very large salt plume pollution issues to deal with.

AMK is a great follow because doing so reminds me of all the ways that I could, but shouldn’t be, an absolute vapid dumbass on social media.

There’s a long-standing belief that NHL teams outside a playoff spot at US Thanksgiving have a very slim chance of making the post-season, but according to the Elias Sports Bureau, of the 64 playoff teams over the last four seasons, 14 (22%) were out of the top 8 at US Thanksgiving.

Betraying left-leaning Canadians who bailed you out of the last election to back an environmentally damaging pet project pushed by your enemies is quite a decision.

If I didn’t know better I would assume you have both a financial incentive to do this and no intention of winning another election.
Premier Smith and I have agreed to a framework built on shared ambitions — to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050, unlock the full potential of Alberta’s energy resources, and build a stronger, more sustainable, more competitive economy.

Get ready for lots of new and creative protests.

And violence.
It's a strange way to go about building national unity—agreeing with Alberta what should be built in BC without talking to BC about it.

Can't imagine the federal government taking this approach to a project that went through Ontario or Quebec.
