🇦🇷 San Lorenzo’s whole squad travelled to La Bombonera in order to pay their respects to former manager Miguel Ángel Russo, who passed away last night. Russo was manager of San Lorenzo until May when he made the move back to Boca Juniors.

🇦🇷 Boca Juniors’ manager Miguel Ángel Russo passed away overnight, aged 69. Fans of all clubs have been queuing outside Boca’s stadium to pay their respects to a well-loved football man, including this River Plate fan. Touches of class at La Bombonera.

🦑 Today is self-styled ‘The Day of the Platense Fan’.

The date was chosen for the birthday of fan Nico Landoni, who passed away —wearing his Platense shirt— in the Cromañón fire on 30.12.2004 where rock nacional band Callejeros were playing. 194 concert-goers lost their lives.

🇦🇷 Boca Juniors’ manager Miguel Ángel Russo has sadly passed away after a short illness. He was 69.

Russo played over 400 games for Estudiantes, earning 17 caps for Argentina. His managerial career saw him manage Boca on three occasions, winning the Libertadores in 2007.

RIP.
