Russia has joined the attack on the BBC. It's becoming clear that what is happening is not a criticism of a mistake by the BBC, but an international fascist attack on British democracy. You only have to see the extraordinary number of trolls unleashed on X to know that's what is happening.

Robbie Gibb was appointed to the BBC Board by Boris Johnson, was an editorial advisor for GB News, and worked as Theresa May's Director of Comms.
He is not impartial or neutral. The government should remove him from the Board immediately to protect the BBC's independence.

The fact that the BBC has made serious culpable errors does not negate the point that there is a real and concerted right-wing media campaign to destroy it. Both points can be true at the same time and the campaign would not end even if the errors did.

Reform UK Leicestershire are crooks.
They announced consultants Newton would do a £1.4m savings review.
That’s ballooned to £30m in 6 just days.
Leader Dan Harrison is a con man.
Leicestershire you’ve been had.

Looks like you don’t always need to edit Trump videos.
This is brutal. Fox forgot to edit all the booing at the Washington Commanders game.

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

Other than time what other legitimate routes are there for him to be removed from post?

I went to school in the seventies on the Aldershot border. Maybe 20~25% of the kids came from Army families (2 para, REME, RCT) but I don't remember as much focus on poppies etc as we have now.
The parents were quite somber and didn't really talk about such stuff.

@marcpieterse.bsky.social I see you pictures and they do show true inhumanity.
I wonder if pressure could every be put to have such pictures on food products like they did with cigarettes.
So many have this sanitised view of how their food is "produced"

If people really want to show respect to those that gave their lives fighting the 20th century fascisty, then they should stop enabling and supporting the 21st century ones.

Did tax return yesterday and I've been lucky that I inherited part of my late parents house. It took a few years to sell and increased in value by about £20,000. The tax I paid on that was just shy of £4000 (24% after £3000 was deducted)
I didn't earn this but paid less tax than the money I did.

As we edge close to the present purchasing season I do wish that companies would use plain packaging.

Top marks to the 70+ children that came trick or treating last night. Brilliant costumes and all very polite.
Special shout out to the lad who came as Martin Goodman from Friday Night Dinners. Was in character all the time and even brought his dog. 👏👏
