I think a lot of the anger about the Bad Bunny halftime show is that he told U.S. citizens the United States isn’t all of America. They think it’s all ours, and only ours.

The Republicans upset about Bad Bunny are sending a clear message. They want the Latino vote - but they don’t want the Latinos attached to those votes.

I LOVE the Bad Bunny choice and his decision to be himself. We’ve also gotten the Black national anthem, THE national anthem, and another American classic song by a variety of artists before the game. (My nieces sang in ATL.) In a diversifying country, it makes a lot of sense.

Those Kid Rock lyrics are insane. I see why so much of Trump’s Evangelical base is all in for him.

Ah, the days when ESPN and other pearl clutchers were upset that @jemelehill called Trump a white supremacist.

Yes, this is what Trump supporters voted for and wanted, as long as it doesn't happen to them or anyone they love. Let's stop pretending otherwise.

It’s a dark, disturbingly revealing irony - on so many levels - that one of the men who allegedly shot and killed Alex Pretti in Minnesota is a Border Patrol agent named Jesus.

Anyone who tells you there is a 'ceasefire' in Gaza is gaslighting you and is an anti-Palestinian racist:
Israeli strikes in Gaza kill at least 30 Palestinians, including several children
Hospitals in Gaza said Israeli strikes killed at least 30 Palestinians including several children on Saturday, one of the highest tolls since the October ceasefire.

Two Black journalists, including Don Lemon, have been arrested by the Trump regime for the sin of reporting on a protest. This is America. Don’t forget the Washington Post fired a Black journalist for not being sympathetic enough about Charlie Kirk. Stop pretending “this isn’t us.” It’s always been.

For those who still don’t get it. Colin Kaepernick was kneeling to protest the policies that led to the killing of those two white people in Minnesota as well. As MLK noted, injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. Do you get it now?

They shoot you dead in broad daylight, lie about it, and smear your character. They do this knowing there’s no one to hold them to account because the Supreme Court says the man who is supposed to essentially can’t be held to account no matter what he does. This is an ugly time.

And yes, democracy was on the ballot. It was not hyperbole.

ICE, which is only a couple decades old, has been arresting people for speech, illegally sending immigrants to foreign places to be tortured, terrorizing the undocumented here, killing innocent American citizens, and even harassing police officers. Why shouldn’t it be abolished?

They are telling us in unequivocal terms that if you show solidarity with immigrants who are in the literal crosshairs of Trump/MAGA, you're risking a death sentence.

Remember when Black Lives Matter activists said what they were trying to fix affects everyone, just Black people first and hardest? Remember when Black scholars said anti-Black policies eventually always end up hurting others? Remember when Black journalists said it wasn’t economic angst?

Not that you asked, but... I've been a journalist for 30 years. I had no problem, whatsoever, with what Lynn Jones did after the Jacksonville Jaguars loss. It was just a human moment. Journalists are allowed to have those with subjects. I've had plenty. It's just that this one was caught on video.

To every media outlet who named that “person of interest.” So, you learned not a damn thing from the Olympic bomber media debacle, and so many since then? Didn’t we say our new standard was to not name a person of interest - slang for suspected criminal - until they were charged?

NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

Trump’s Fury at BBC Gets Unnerving Results with Pro-MAGA Edit Stunner
First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?
