@ossoff.senate.gov I live in Cumming and would like the senator to vote for new leadership in the Senate. The latest capitulation was plain embarrassing (and will not protect ACA).

JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

I notice news outlets don’t make it clear that the Insurrection act is not equivalent to martial law at all.
Elaborating b/c there's a lot of misunderstanding on this.

Insurrection Act does nothing except you can then use soldiers as cops. They can enforce laws, but they're the same old laws. It doesn't suspend the Constitution. No martial law, no closing courts, no removing state officials, none of that.
Even if he did, which I'd bet is likelier than not, none of this is true. The Insurrection Act is not a declaration of martial law. It doesn't close the courts. It doesn't suspend habeas corpus. It means you can use the military to enforce federal laws, but the laws themselves remain the same.

Hugely consequential and not well understood by the general public
All roads lead to Ronald Reagan, apparently true with today’s FCC. The repeal of the Fairness Doctrine in 1987 made possible the Fox News Network and the rise of a nationwide talk radio network. The USA has been dividing itself ever since.

Many fascinating things going on in this graph. Obviously, the US's performance is crappy, given expenditures. I find the success stories interesting as well, particularly Japan, Italy, Israel, and South Korea.
Check out this scatterplot of health spending per capita (x axis) & life expectancy (y axis) in OECD countries (lines = averages).

The United States sits alone in the bottom right area due to its very high spending rate and below-average life expectancy.

Bill Pulte's accusation, the sole pretext Trump used to fire her from the Fed, was that she claimed two homes as primary residence.
