Jonathan Ross was dragged in a separate incident last year by a fleeing driver, according to court records.

YIMBYism is power politics because enacting it makes places more affordable & attractive to live and because power follows people, both in economic terms and in terms of political representation.

ICE dude peaked in middle school and now hes carrying out his revenge fantasies on high school teens.
I always thought the term "cosplaying" was overused until ICE/CBP started showing up everywhere. Look at this guy, does he think it's Fallujah? (It's a high school in Minneapolis).

Called this out a while ago but the normalization of misogyny by attacking "white women" with the entire negative substance and tropes being the woman part was predictable.
it's sort of funny that white is now an epithet on the right if paired with woman and liberal

I really wish Muni ran a boeing lrv in its historic streetcar set. I always wanted to ride one. Seems a bit ridiculous its the one historic vehicle the agency seems to shun.

I’d never, ever say Donald Trump is a *good* person. But I do think that in some ways he’s a less bad person than many of the people who surround him. He’s just stupid, cruel, and casually bigoted. They have an active and much more intentional evil.
man, did the viziers in the WH not actually show him the actual video?

Why does the media not care what government accounts say online?
I keep going back to this. This is a taunt. They're taunting us. There is no other possible interpretation of what they're doing.

But media simply ignores this deranged behavior, because if they talk about it, one must conclude that DHS is a rogue agency, of villainous paramilitary thugs.

10 years ago it would've been front page news that the wealthiest man in the world declared himself a Nazi, the Vice President followed Nazi social media and declared large portions of minorities in this country an invasion, and Fox News hosts were endorsing executing American citizens.

Now? nope.

“Construction is already among the most dangerous jobs in the country, with about 1,000 people dying each year from work-related injuries, more than any other industry. But five times as many workers, 5,100, died by suicide, and 15,900 died from drug overdoses, in 2023…”

Happy New Year! This year, I’m looking for a new role as a paralegal, policy analyst, compliance specialist, or similar role.

As a public transit advocate, I regularly review proposed legislation and provide timely analysis for affected stakeholders.

For non-locals, the intersection where ICE agents reportedly just shot and killed a driver is four blocks from where George Floyd was murdered. Very bad

My San Mateo-Hayward bridge rail line shuttle between Hayward Park Caltrain and Hayward BART isn't doing well in ridership on SubwayBuilder. I figured there'd be high demand for a swift shuttle over the bay with stops at Foster City and Chabot College but I guess not.

I think it was the separation of academia from social media. Academia would emphasize that issues like racism or sexism were primarily systemic, while social media would elevate non-academics using the language of social justice but having interpersonal feuds or focusing on individual offenses.
have seen some folks mention or contemplate that there were parts of “Woke 1.0” that were inept, too much, ham-fisted, etc. Without putting anyone on the spot, has anyone more concretely described what, exactly, they think were the inept or too much parts?

California has made real progress on land use and permitting — but we still aren’t building housing at the scale we need.

One reason: the way we build homes hasn’t kept pace with innovation. That’s what our new Select Committee is focused on.

Saw this in Berkeley. Students and newcomers used to line up around the block to get older apartments here before the 2015 building boom. Now thats much more rare of. New units in my old building rent for a couple $100 more than longtime rent controlled ons when the gap used to be $1000 or more.
A heck of a chart: in every single one of the 10 major US cities that built the most housing between 2017 and 2023, rents for older, existing units fell—often by quite a bit.
