I would like to get off the Growth At All Costs ride please. If we could spend some time on the Ticking Along Nicely Making Cool Stuff attraction instead, that'd be swell

Electricity transmission costs across the UK, note they are negative in the south of England, most expensive the north of Scotland.

Yet zonal electricity, which might redress some of this, has been rejected.

This is holding Scottish industry back, and consumers will ultimately be paying for this.

Just learned that in Vi you can use 'zz' to scroll the editor view so that the cursor is centered.
So i immediately remapped {,},n,N to always center the cursor after a 'jump'. Feels great!

I'd be happy to hear about your favorite vimrc configs!

Ed Miliband is reported to have ruled out switching the UK’s energy transmission and distribution network (“the Grid”) to a system of “zonal pricing”, according to the Guardian . If this is your first time hearing about this, the current grid system is largely based on reliance on coal and gas. It

So Starship Ship 36 just detonated *before* the static fire test - fueled and waiting for the test. Looks like the top tank lets go and sets off the whole stack. It would be bad enough if it let go during the static fire test, but it just blew up. And it's cooking off the fuel tanks on the pad.

The real problem with AI art is it is all one specific genre. Theoretically it's a really broad concept: art that's created by an artificial intelligence rather than an organic one. In practice, it's oversaturated pictures of people with freckles who look like they've been dipped in cum.

Great post by Andy here.

Designing in the browser forces you to consider state.

Recently I've seen things like cart buttons with no design for what happens when you click it. Does it open a modal? Navigate away?

Prototypes in the browser bring this to the fore.
