When marine biologist Josie Lark returns home temporarily to support her pregnant little sister and save Pelican Cove's coastline, unfinished business with her first love – Will Mercer – threatens to turn her carefully planned escape into a reason to stay.
#BluePit #BluePit📖 #W #A #R
At the center of the image is a blurb that reads: As a marine biologist specializing in sea turtle conservation, Josie Lark has spent her entire life chasing the next coastline, the next job, determined to put as much distance as possible between this version of herself and the grief of her childhood. But when a call from her pregnant little sister drags her home to the sleepy island town of Pelican Cove, Josie returns with a set itinerary: pack up their late mother’s house, put together her restoration proposal for the Gulf Conservation Center, greet her baby niece, and board a flight to her dream job in Australia eight weeks later.
Will Mercer is not part of that plan.
Will is the boy she once loved. He’s her childhood best friend, her first kiss and her first heartbreak, and the one person Josie never quite stopped regretting. While she ran off to college, Will stayed, tied to his family marina and a life Josie didn’t want for herself. With Pelican Cove’s fragile ecosystem and coastal economy in crisis, Josie’s project at the Conservation Center puts her directly in Will’s orbit. The electric chemistry is still there, but so are the ghosts of who they used to be—and the reality that Josie is leaving. Again.
As summer stretches into fall, between long days on the water and a storm that changes everything, Josie begins to question where she truly belongs—and what it would mean to stay.

The background is a pale blue to darker blue gradient from left to right. The bottom of the image reads “@indesii”.

Why can't I find the seasonal purple m&m's yet? I've only seen the orange and I want to do some Halloween-themed baking soon. 😭

A Half-Built Garden by Ruthanna Emrys. I feel it needs to be read in schools. 🤯

What I REALLY want are some tomatillo plants, but I can't seem to find any ready to transplant and I'm not Feeling Ready to try growing anything from seed. 😖
indesii.bsky.social
Look at them go! Our other chili plant is starting to grow too---can't remember if it's an arbol or ancho plant. We added a bird feeder for the tomato plants (to encourage the birds to yoink any caterpillars). Gonna add some mulch this weekend, maybe get roma toms and red bell peppers!

If anyone needs a little scroll break, please enjoy the cats on scratchers! Yes, the layout was intentional... 🤣😂
Three cats (two ginger, one black-brown tabby) lounging on cardboard scratchers arranged in a... phallic shape... 🤣

You MADE this? This is incredible! 😮

Charlie Kirk in 2023: "It’s worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment."

He was wrong. No child, no moviegoer and no conservative commentator should have to die to maintain this perverted notion of the 2nd Amendment.

Just try and stop me!!

1) you don't always need to kill off the main characters parents!
2) writers: you know what? I'm going to kill them off even harder

I don't think he's making it out of this, but yeah, that would be enough. 😬 I certainly don't advocate for political violence, I just have an absence of care for him. It’s a really sad FAFO situation. I feel bad for his kids.

Every day I add more to my garden (benefits of SoCal is there's no real bad time to plant) and today's addition was an poblano/ancho chile. I now have green & yellow peppers, better bush & beefsteak tomatoes, jalapenos and arbol chiles. Now to plant some herbs to attract wasps/keep hornworms down.

Something yoinked a pepper in the night (no idea what), but I still have one green bell pepper and one jalapeno growing right now. I just want SOMETHING. I need one win to prove I can do it. 🤣😂

I don't think I helped myself by starting so late in the year—though at least SoCal will stay warm for another couple of months? 🥲 It's such a learning curve.

Yesterday was my anniversary, so no writing for me—went to the beach and had Mexican food instead! But tonight, I'll start both my next projects (both unnamed, oops). My goal is discovery writing a few scenes for both. No real word count or time goal, just vibes. I'm looking forward to this #FFYW!

Hi #writingcommunity and all those participating in #FFYW! Day one is over, and we're onto day two, so tell us:

What project are you working on this month?

What is your goal for the month?

(Let it be known I know Not All Americans, and yes I do live in America now lmaoooo)
indesii.bsky.social
I just---does no one else find Americans (the Terrors aside) super cringe? Bro, this is your culture? Guns and cheeseburgers and flags? Is this what you defeated the British for? To be super lame 250 years later? 🤣 At least we got the Polio vaccine outta ya---sorry you don't wanna use it anymore!

IMO many Americans don't even buy guns for personal protection or to defend themselves against a tyrannical government. They simply have a shopping addiction
A family outside their home. Their deck is loaded with guns. A man in his living room. His living room is full of guns. There's also a big safe labeled "Liberty." A man outside his home. The walkway into his home is full of guns. A woman outside her garage. The front of her home is full of guns, some laid out in a star formation.

I finished Summer Season last night! Draft 1 sits at 92,237 words. I'm going to be setting it aside to outline and write my next project, and then I expect draft 2 to be a lot of work. 😱😱😱
