butternut squash can be made into a soup (by breaking down all the structural starch via e.g. a blender), and then it is a wet salad. qed.

all soup is wet salad, therefore: milk and saliva are salad

yeah, with how slow the OSS intel runners are, it seems like it’ll be faster to build for intel from arm instead and hope it works without any way to test on real hardware 😬
November 24, 2025 at 3:22 AM
Intel jumping from 13 to 15 and citing this policy as the justification (and saying they will remove intel runners entirely in 10 months) is why I am complaining
November 23, 2025 at 7:44 PM
it’s the runner OS versions policy, which is now very restrictive and removes macOSes at ~13 months old

very frustrating that GitHub has set an official runner policy that macOS open source projects can’t build for users once their OS is 13 months old

for me, ruby is the language where I can just write natural zero-effort pseudocode and be 95% of the way to code that does the exact specific thing I wanted to do.

rust is the language where I can put in way more effort than that, but get an end result that runs really fast, everywhere.

oh yeah I refused to run gitolite, gitosis was… fine. I was very, very excited about github by comparison.

I was the maintainer of our startup’s gitosis and I wanted so badly to stop owning it that I signed up in ten minutes 😂

imo the engine yard era was worse (iirc it started around the time chris deleted the production database thinking his ssh session was a local terminal) but it does feel like it's gotten much worse recently than it was 5 years ago!

it seems like HTTP has also been semi-broken for months, where loading the various areas of the page are fully serial and if any single request ever times out or fails the page stops there forever. this makes the entire website fully unable to load on plane wifi. 😭

I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
