one of the things that makes me most mad about genAI (and there are many) is we've been told there's not enough money for hiring. but there's billions poured into ai.
so not enough money to hire workers. but infinite money to pour into technology whose goal is never having to pay workers again.

my biggest struggle with making art is the discomfort with how it often doesn’t look good/doesn’t look how i want until the very end. so i’ll put countless hours into it trying to trust the process but even after doing it for years, i still don’t always have faith that it’ll come together!

when i have a long todo list, i get very productive avoiding all the things on the todo list that i don’t want to do by doing the ones that i hate less. however!! now i have done most of my todo list and am only left with the dregs 😵💫

WE WON! After 42 days of striking we have a tentative agreement in hand that protects our existing 4 day work week, establishes a minimum salary, and adds protections against AI replacing jobs at our workplace!

having cats has done a lot to help me reset my achievement-centric mindset. do i expect anything of my cats besides them just being their cute selves? no. do i find them absolutely perfect as they are and deserving of care, food, and shelter, without having to earn it? yes.
