This extreme bill would impact a whole swath of voters' right to vote — disproportionately impacting voters of color, naturalized citizens, voters with low incomes, people with disabilities, rural voters, older voters, married women, and transgender people.

Do not believe people who tell you calling your senators and representatives “doesn’t matter”. It absolutely does.

All democratic senators and 7 Republicans voted to BLOCK funding bill that includes DHS funding without reforms. Those of you who have taken the time to make calls, excellent job!!👏🔥❤️

Indivisible CSRA Logo Statement on Alex Pretti ICE took another life, needlessly. Renee Nicole Good, Keith Porter Jr., amongst others continue to be killed or subjected to the violence of ICE. And, now, Alex Pretti. Alex Pretti, of Minneapolis, was a VA Nurse, Union member, and he cared deeply for his community. His peaceful resistance will not be forgotten. This is abhorrent, and we must meet the moment with grounded action. Our principles of grounded organizing and radical hope tell us that we must not be despondent, but act with considered intent. We must also look to those most experienced, at the epicenter of this fight. The spin and slander from the right, that characterizes people like Alex and Renee as “domestic terrorists” will not change what is plain to any reasonable viewer: Government sanctioned paramilitary groups are committing extrajudicial killings. What we can do: First, learn from those who are experienced in observing. Immigration organizations recommend using the SALUTE method. If you do not have all the following information, continue to observe until you do before sharing the information with your community. Support action not panic: Size/Strength: “How many agents?” Actions/Activity: “What are agents doing?” Location/Direction: “Address or cross streets of activity” Uniform/Clothes: “What are the agents wearing?” Time and date: “What is the time and date of activity?” Equipment/Weapons: “What equipment and weapons do agents have on them?” 1 of 2 Indivisible CSRA Logo Statement on Alex Pretti, cont. On Recent Events and Taking Action On Wed. Jan. 7, an ICE agent in Minnesota murdered Renee Good, a “poet and writer and wife and mom and shitty guitar strummer” as she self-described on an Instagram attributed to her. ICE - at the behest of the Trump regime - continues state-sponsored terrorism of US citizens. While our freedoms are stripped away, bonuses are given to those who turn against their neighbors. Donald Trump and his fascist collaborators want you to disbelieve what you can plainly see. Trust your eyes. Trust your self. Trust and support credible sources of information. --- Here are the next steps: National events require national action - we must move together. Join Indivisible’s national call tonight to learn more about how we will respond as one movement - links in posts and emails. Change cannot and will not happen with only participation in single-day actions like protests. We see it with No Kings Day - thousands show up, then aren’t seen again until the next one. Change requires consistent, persistent, wide-spread action. It requires talking to friends, family, coworkers, congregants, neighbors. It requires calling local reps, and state reps, and national reps. It requires keeping social media and news flooded and focused on demands and actions, not just fear and frustration. Our Statement on the military action in Venezuela.
A statement by Indivisible CSRA The Trump Regime’s recent military occupation of Venezuela once again shows its true interests: Authoritarian rule at the expense of working class people. President Trump claims the capture of President Nicolás Maduro was to end drug trafficking into the United States, a hypocrisy echoed by CSRA Reps. Rick Allen and Joe Wilson; and Sens. Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham. And yet, Donald Trump has repeatedly pardoned convicted drug traffickers including Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernández, Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht, and others. How have Republicans - who currently control all branches of government - actually addressed substance abuse? By cutting billions of dollars in insurance for substance abuse use treatment, slashing SAMHSA funding, and limiting effective programs in housing and harm reduction. Trump’s true motivations are plain: Continue his authoritarian domination - here and abroad - in order to enrich himself and his cronies. Once again, Donald Trump has set fire to the Constitution and walked all over the doormat that is the Republican-led congress. Polling data is clear: Americans do not want this occupation. The Venezuelan people deserve true peace and representative democracy. So do Americans. We call on our congresspeople to hold the Trump regime to account by passing the bipartisan War Powers Resolution and to further investigate these actions as domestic and international criminal activity. We encourage our neighbors to call their representatives and to attend demonstrations against these actions in Aiken and Augusta in the days to come.
