Nothing remotely resembling an insurrection is happening anywhere in the country. Any violence associated with protest has been isolated, mild, and, in nearly every case, instigated by federal law enforcement. If we let Trump get away with calling dissent an insurrection, our republic is over.

Last night, my team filed a motion to defend voters in California.

DOJ sued 8 states. My firm has filed to protect voters in all 8 states.

We will never back down from the fight to protect free and fair elections.

DOJ has sued 8 states for refusing to turn over their full, unreacted voter files.

My team has now filed motions to defend voters in 7 of those cases in ME, MI, MN, NH, NY, OR and PA.

I suggest that DOJ monitor the docket in the remaining one in CA.

Welcome to day 8 of the Republican shutdown. They are driving the government into the ditch to try to tear away your healthcare.
schumer.senate.gov
The government is shut down because Trump and the Republicans are hellbent on taking health care away from you.

And they won’t even come to the table to talk to us about it.

This is not about politics. It's about people.

Let’s break it down:

A good time to announce that @thexylom.com will run @gelliottmorris.com's model back and conduct an unofficial No Kings Day 2 nationwide attendance count!

We conservatively estimated that 150k to 310k people attended Labor Day protests. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to 10/18.

On the government shutdown, here's what you're not being told.
If Republican Senators wanted to pass the CR and reopen the government they could, by using the nuclear option to override the 60 vote rule and pass the CR with a simple majority vote. We have 53 R Senators.
Even liars tell the truth once in a while
REPUBLICANS COULD REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT TODAY, BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO

Judge, to DOJ tonight: Did I stutter?
acyn.bsky.social
Bonta: Just minutes before the hearing, we got word that the Texas National Guard has been federalized.

We asked the judge to issue a broad order — one that applies to every National Guard unit in every state — stating that none of them can be deployed to Oregon.

She issued that order

I caution that we still don't know why Judge Diane Goodstein's home burned down.

But more than 24 hours since the incident, The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and the AP combined have run exactly zero articles or updates about the developing situation.

Judge Diane Goodstein crossed the Trump administration last month. Yesterday, her home burned, her husband was injured and it's being investigated for arson.

Republicans could pass a rule change this afternoon, same as they did 10 days ago, and keep the gov open.

Instead, they’re spending a whole bunch of time and energy trying to gaslight the country into blaming Democrats.

Will the media let Republicans get away with pretending to be helpless?
