Indiana GOP supermajority Senate soundly rejects Trump, Braun and re-gerrymandering in Indiana… bill voted down 31-19

Today was a very good day in the fight against Trumpian fascism.

Perhaps MAGA fever is breaking

“Ah, just one more thing, sir. You’re blowing up those boats, saying they’re filled with drugs headed for the US. But then you go and pardon the guy who brought in 400 tons of cocaine. That’s billions of doses. Help me understand that.”

Such classic gaslighting it's an instructive moment. The question is not whether generic is better or worse, it's that a list with more expensive brand names is not the same as a list with cheaper generics. Perverting that truth into an attack on those calling it out is Manipulation 101.
Hassett: "On one of the Sunday shows, the anchor criticized the fact Walmart said the Thanksgiving dinner is cheaper by about $10. Then he said, 'Oh yeah, but they substituted generic stuff,' as if having a generic something is a crime for ordinary folks! It shows how out of touch these people are."

This.

Knowing that they were going to do this, they should have addressed the public on the decision. Made USE of the moment.
This is actually good spin, or would have been. But the fact that the Democratic cave happened without even a coordinated, agreed-upon message like this indicates the depth of the leadership void.

And the truly craziest thing abt this cave is that someone seeing the invasion of Chicago firsthand, Dick Durbin, doesn't understand this.
seems to me that those democrats inclined not to fight perceive themselves as living through a somewhat ordinary cycle of presidential overreach and backlash and not something much more significant and dangerous

So tired of screaming into the void about this, but thank god @emptywheel.bsky.social isn't.

STOP FUCKING DOING REPUBLICANS WORK FOR THEM.

STFU about Garland already "Dems".
Me, on why the fuck are we still fighting about Merrick Garland (including why you're being duped if you were worried about a pre-election halt in 2022).

Today, Mike Johnson will keep the House adjourned for the 95th day out of the last 107.

12 days of work in 107 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.
