I found that grey is great for visualisation, while doing visualization I prefer gray.

A comparison of an ‘orthographic’ projection, which positions the viewer an infinite distance from the Earth and views a full hemisphere, and a ‘vertical perspective’ projection which simulates a view from a specified altitude—in this case geostationary orbit.

I found another variant of Perozzo's stereogram, from 1881. Here it is (!) above my Gabaglio 1888 and Brinton 1939. Its colors are beautiful.
