Het raakt me dat iemand niet meegaat in de haat voor migranten. Daar kunnen veel Nederlandse politici nog een heleboel van leren - inclusief die van zogenaamde middenpartijen.

The narrative seems to be(come) that the Dutch election shows a “comeback of the political center”. We have seen this frame before, implying “the center” has an ideological substance and is stable. But “the center” keeps moving right on mostly nativist, but also often authoritarian, issues.

Ik verruilde 6 jaar geleden verruilde mijn studentenkamer in Groningen voor een nog kleiner optrekje in Istanboel. Het plan was om 6 maanden te blijven, voor een stage op het consulaat. Inmiddels zijn we 6 jaar verder en woon ik nog steeds met veel plezier in Istanboel. De diplomatieke wereld was niets voor mij; als journalist voel ik me hier beter op mijn plek.
