Pope Leo XIV is calling for what the Judeo Christian Scriptures have called us to since ancient times; repentance and conversion.

It is political and ideological warfare that have attempted to rip apart the concept of holiness from ecology. In the beginning, it was not so.

Go back to Adam & Eve, but esp Cain & Abel, to see it. Failure to listen to God is tied to a ruined relationship with Creation.

While wealthy lay on couches and required laborers to work the land til it was fruitless, the prophets cried out. We see such a scene repeated over history again & again.

We can’t fix it
It’s too late

She was named after Pope Leo XIV's late mother. Now she's grown with two children, and has a great devotion to John Paul II. What a blessing; her godfather now holds the same office as JPII!

The good thing about it, though, is reminding me of a beautiful teaching from Pope Francis which he passed on from the saints; "the gift of tears."

When we find ourselves weeping, we can grow.

The 10th Anniversary of #LaudatoSi is approaching.
I hope the universal Church will continue to learn from the wisdom of indigenous cultures. To combat the evils of modernity, we need to rediscover our identity as members of God's Creation, and as all relatives.
