When retired, work relationships just stopped.

What do people expect?

Folks, you need to cultivate a life outside of work and work adjacent people and events. This is one of the things telework helps with because you can't "be lazy" and settle for work friends.

I retired with a full pension, a paid-off house, and a loving wife — and by month four I was sitting in my truck in the driveway wondering what the point of any of it was
After achieving everything he'd worked 35 years for, he found himself sitting in his driveway, surrounded by success but drowning in the terrifying emptiness of having no idea what came next.

Our president, Paulist Fr. René Constanza, recently was elected to a second, four-year term as head of the Paulist Fathers.

His second term begins this June.

Thank you, Fr. René, for your faithful service to our missionary society and the People of God.

Can you say "arbitrary and capricious"
Trump: "So I put on a 30% tariff, which is very low. I got an emergency call from I believe the prime minister of Switzerland. She was very aggressive ... I didn't really like the way she talked to us, so instead of giving her a reduction, I raised it to 39%."

Critical thinking 101:
If the source of the information has a vested interest in you believing the information, you must be skeptical of it until an independent 3rd party (or two) can verify the information.

How long before they bring back separate drinking fountains, restrooms, entrances, etc.? They posted that video because they feel they are "better than others" and "superior."

Every action they do is another grievous attack on human dignity.

This is one good argument to go back to requiring banks to return the actual canceled check with a paper statement.

The chief executive is to see the laws Congress passes are faithfully executed. This includes appropriations for public infrastructure. Congressional appropriations are not at the discretion of the executive.

Extortion isn't surprising given his history.

Let me be perfectly clear, I support legitimate law enforcement. On the best days, law enforcement officers have a difficult job. These people play acting as law enforcement on ICE's payroll are not professional law enforcement and only make legitimate law enforcement officers' jobs more difficult.

Can we please ban "make <whatever> great again" from the English language? Like "nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure" elimination. Please, pretty please.

So if it wasn't already on your list, a Superbowl boycott seems appropriate. Oh, how an empty stadium and abysmal TV ratings would highlight the problem.

If an elected official is concerned their conduct will result in impeachment should the opposition party gain power, perhaps said official should alter their conduct. Just a thought.

It's not quite the most pressing issue at the moment, but the American people absolutely have a right to know the names of the federal officials who shot and killed a man peacefully protesting, who was on his knees, prone in the street when they shot him in the back.

Today is a holiday in the USA because at one point, the government realized civil rights matter and should be universal. Furthermore, they recognized that the past injustices prevented future equality and resolved to try and make amends and do better.

Homan claimed that Nicole Good's actions could meet the definition of "domestic terrorism" and invited people to "look it up." The definition that matters is in the US Code 18 USC 2331 to be exact. Spoiler alert - it doesn't.
