Hello, fellow normal wizards!
Here's four goblins in a wizard robe trying to scam their way into a very secret wizard meeting ✨️

I laughed out loud to see that the Halloween billboard for Hell Pizzas on Great King Street Dunedin had been replaced with a National Party ad.

A good start to the day with an Advent post from Emma Newman on Tea and Sanctuary.
It's been a long time since I recorded an episode of Tea and Sanctuary, but heaven knows we all need some sanctuary and zero stakes stuff in these dark days. Totally unedited with ropey voice, as I explain within the episode, along with why it started today!

Advent 2025 Day 1 | Tea and Sanctuary
Lovelies, this year's advent calendar is unusual. All will be explained within! Please note that I am unwell, so my voice sounds rough and there has been zero editing. Again, all explained in the epis...

Just like that the Chi Gung conference is finished, like an auspicious dragon soaring in the clouds.

The power was off just before dawn this morning. I wonder what caused that?

A walk across the car park to dispose of my tea leaves in the garden. Temperatures definitely at Combust in Direct Sunlight levels in Dunedin.

New Zealand is about 29% foreign born, Australia 32%. And with several generations of ancestors born in New Zealand, I would like to say a hearty "Fuck Off. No. Fuck off further" to these US concerns about us not being scared of or angry at of migrants. DEPLOY THE DOBBYN youtu.be/Wlz2uEuxyyk?...

One of these arrived in my letterbox last week. I pick it up and read out a slogan sounding like a Dalek.
WE ARE GETTING NEW ZEALAND BACK ON TRAAAAACK!
Freepost it back to them!

Before playing a Doctor Who homage on International Tardis Day on RNZ Concert, Miro Shimaoka is playing some oud music from the Penguin Cafe Orchestra. I hope someone explains the pun to him.

I wonder what happened to Pope Francis’ jazz collection.
He said "Amen" straight into the drop

Lmao Pope Leo threw a rave for an archbishop's 75th birthday this is kind of incredible

The people are arriving for the Chi Gung conference at the College. That would explain why it's raining!

Quick cartoon. I was hoping to stay unplugged this week but I saw some news and had to take a break to draw this out. I think we all needed to see it realized.

Clicks on article to see which karakia offended them. I think I used "Tuwhera" by Scotty Morrison in an intercessory prayer at church without offending anyone because it works so well. The Community Board Members in question seem indelicate to me.

Returning to Dunedin on the bus after a visit to my mother in Invercargill I noticed the billboards the National Party had up on the oneway. Awfully decent of the Party to tell us how much the polls are panicking them, I thought.

Three nights in Invercargill to see my mother - she's moved care homes, still reasonably ticking over mentally for 93 yrs old - I return to the College, and with exams over, it is empty of residents. The kenopsia begins for the summer.

At first scroll I thought it was too early in November to be lighting Christmas trees in public.
Absolutely breathtaking sight, thousandsof students walking through the night. Route from Belgrade to Novi Sad.
