I learned crochet one year ago and it's so fulfilling and helpful. Sometimes you just wanna tune out of the world and crochet won't leave you with that feeling that you could have done something productive because you will end up with something. I hope you enjoy it!

There's this free tutorial. Crochet is not exactly easy, but I think knitting for me is a lot harder. I would buy some cheap yarn and a bigger hook like 4 millimeters and try to see how you work the basic stitches. If you enjoy it, then you try something bigger.
