Cocona World English Translation by InvisibleUp. Stuffed with stylish dreams

From Chappyland to Marshland, SOFEL's Forest is a magical place. Enjoy life together in the forest with Cocona.

St. Paul's Hill - This mysterious hill of divination houses a serene shrine to Saturn. You can get your fortune told here.

Cocona's House - This is where Cocona eats and sleeps. It’s a safe haven from the hooligans.

Meadow of Joy - There's a very enjoyable Bingo game here. Your mom, your dad, your friends, everyone can enjoy Bingo here.

Vegetable Garden - Cocona is rather fond of salad. She can buy vegetables from the fox at the market here. However, eating too much is no good.

Ririmuu Ranch - A peaceful voice here calls out — "Moo!" The milk from this ranch is quite fresh.

Magic Academy - It is important for Cocona to study her magic, but for some reason, standing in front of the blackboard makes her just want to doodle...

Hot Tab Springs - Cocona's quite the stylish lady! She likes to take a bath at least once a day.

Cape Iris - A romantic white lighthouse on the coast. Go fishing, and say hello to the sea otters too.

Game in Game - There are games presented within Cocona's game! Mama, papa, the whole family, everyone can enjoy themselves.

Horoscope - To get your fortune, enter your birthdate, and select the one
of the four celestial bodies: the Sun, the Moon, Venus, or Mercury. I wonder what kind of fortune you will get?

Bingo - Using the included Bingo cards, the whole family can enter the Bingo tournament. How about you throw a bingo party with your friends?

Notebook - Whether you want to leave a message for your friend, a
secret request for your mom, or simply something private to yourself, this notebook can be entrusted with it all!

i've got to do an archive binge of Dumbing of Age, because I've gotten kinda sucked back into it lately after not reading it since... 2017? 2018?

The Framework forums thread got insanely unwieldy, so I wrote up a (somewhat shorter) summary post of the situation

this is like a project car except it fits inside my apartment and i can play DOOM on it when i'm done.

replacing the PSU here is likely a good idea regardless. i just don't trust this one...

ah, found some documentation. yep, it's a jumper thing. cool.
invisibleup.com
there's actually a sticker on top of the ATX connector advising me to read the manual before I use it. unfortunately, i do not have the manual, so I have no idea what it'd be trying to warn me about. hopefully it's not some sort of jumper configuration issue.
invisibleup.com
wait a sec! i tried it again after walking away for a bit and the cpu fan spun for a bit! now i'm wondering if it's a capacitor issue. question is, with the mobo, or with the PSU? the PSU is this no-name sludge, and the mobo *does* accept ATX supplies (albeit, probably without the -15V rail)...
invisibleup.com
and also esd protection stuff, because honestly, i might've killed the mobo due to that...
invisibleup.com
i should buy a multimeter...
invisibleup.com
At one point I did *almost* get a sound out of the speaker, and then i noticed the GPU had come loose from its slot. So hopefully I didn‘t fry the mobo by shorting some pins…
invisibleup.com
It is odd that the CPU fan isn’t spinning. the only indication that the motherboard has power at all is that I can plug in the TNT2 and its fan spins.

one of these days i ought to make a "classic" front-end for my website that strips most of the CSS and makes it look nice and readable on older computers. i mean, it already mostly is, but even more so.
invisibleup.com
hm, perhaps. the IRC idea is good, for sure.
invisibleup.com
would be neat if i can get the issues sorted out. dunno what i'd do with it besides install Windows 98 on it and go "ooh, neat", but hey. that's fun in and of itself.
invisibleup.com
we've got:
- MTI M628 STALLION
- Pentium II, 233 MHz
- 256(?) MB RAM
- Linksys Etherfast 10/100
- some jank-ass soundcard
- An Adaptec SCSI controller (just for fun)
- Riva TNT2 M64 Vanta
- 32x CD drive
- a floppy drive
- a USB port (+ card reader) to plug into the USB header
- WD Caviar 3320 HDD
invisibleup.com
i suspect it's an issue with the RAM; it's kinda awkwardly shoved right next to the power switch, so closing the case causes it to bump up against the release lever. kinda annoying. i noticed it actually had low-profile RAM installed just so the cable wouldn't get caught on it.

So, how many Ralseis has everyone else been able to find so far? I think I've got most of them, but I still can't find any in chapter 4 :/
