The actual released Palestinian hostages versus the photo the Associated Press attached to their headline.

This is what “Zionist media” means.

Cringe NYTimes editorial aside, it’s worth noting that the Associated Press style book - the definitive guide for journalism and news writing in American English - has explicitly recommended against using the word “junkie” like this since 2020.
NYT always finds them.

Water resources have been severely compromised, with around 60,000 cubic metres of untreated sewage and wastewater flowing daily into the Mediterranean Sea. Gaza’s drinking water system, already insufficient before the war, with 90-95% of groundwater undrinkable, is now in a further critical state.

I think this is the show they want to give us, but ALSO because they want us to think this is just about TikTok and not all tech

I think it’s actually really important to make sure that bad actors cannot manipulate us using our data. The problem with the TikTok ban is didn’t address the fundamental data security issues at play here. They could’ve developed policy around data privacy and manipulation. 1/

I'm not shocked a company would do this. I'm more on edge about Newsom saying he'll comply with raising the flag tomorrow because Trump is upset it's half mast for Carter still.
And the increasing ICE raids happening, DURING evacs, in southern California after Newsom said we will remain a sanctuary.

Culturework confirmed the app is not in the app store. So no new downloads are possible 👀

Uber exec stalked and harassed a journalist for exposing them too, then wanted dirt dug up on every critic in their early years and look at Uber now.

But again it's the law that is the issue, it's not about a single app.

I follow them! They are legit 😄
Also you're back on the app?! 😃

Someone said no new users can download the app though, can someone confirm?? 👀

tolerant interpretation of it it.

That corp barely if ever got fined by the US govt and all of its competitors got fined yearly if I’m being nice lol

However, this could totally be for the dramatics too!

Still think this ban is silly and the folks who started it and upheld the ruling is wrong

Everyone thinks tiktok is on its brat vibes but I get the concern

I worked with conservative (not politically but otherwise) corps that want to make sure they follow every rule possible and would take the strict interpretation of a law/regulation/statement instead of the more…
Let’s get it, let’s go.

I agree! I think the operative phrasing is "in agreement with service providers" because they were the ones that were going to get the huge fines per user, and why would tiktok want to leave them high and dry if there's any possibility of making future apps?

Y'all before you dive deep in a nothing burger, the precedent this law sets is still extremely alarming. And if there were a billionaire choot playing right in our faces...there's no more quiet part anymore 👀
Part 2.
The ban is also about *any* app/website/tech/etc that is deemed to be held by a "foreign advisory," not just TikTok.

If you've never been on TikTok before then you've never seen how pliable the algorithm is. I could zip myself to any corner with a search & couple interactions.
Did they promote content via that tactic for sure. But I was able to move away from it pretty easily.
It's better at suppression honestly🥴
