In 2025, my wishes for fandom and pop culture would be… better representation and characterization of women, especially in the mainstream. Or - which means the same to me - the demise of the Girlboss Narrative.

Triste viu... nao tava pensando que ia ver essa ~macheza~ voltar pros quadrinhos em pleno 2025.

So ta faltando chamar o Rob Liefeld de volta
Yeah, Revelation Gambit and "No Light" from Florence and the Machine.

It's on you, @gailsimone.bsky.social

(Just kidding, I loved it)

Of proving her own value to herself and to others, a sense of "grit" that evokes Rogue's "punk" past.

All this in a scenery in which she has to fight a God to save a planet, or to settle a score - we don't know yet.

But it's been a while I haven't been this excited to find out in a Rogue story.
Why?
Well, #xspoilers ahead, proceed with caution

#Rogue Red, as a "copy" stripped away from her powers, may have a stronger connection with some earlier aspects of her character i kinda miss: some "underdog" undertones, the struggle to find herself apart of outside memories, the necessity
#xspoilers

I have some theories about this, actually:

- Remy may not know abt Rogue Red

- Rogue Red may have walked away out of her own volition, because she feels she's not the "rightful" Rogue

But in either case, I'm surprisingly coming to like Rogue Red as a concept
Not to be crude but are you saying Gambit wouldn’t have love to have a relationship with two Rogues? #Xspoilers

After reading the #gambit part in the wretched x-men'97 book, my thoughts are

1) thanks god BDM is gone and

2) AS FUCKING USUAL, Gambit deserved *much* better.

And 3) Zero hopes of the deathbit arc actually being about Gambit. Which is what I actually want
Vai mesmo?????

Nao acredito!

(Nao pq nao de um filme foda demais, mas vão deixar esse filme ser o que ele pode?)
But it seems I'm in the wrong, I guess. Puny me.
So, yeah. I don't like Sexualized Rogue. Sue me. But not bc I'm a prude, oh no. I'm old enough to defy most definitions and expectations of degeneracy here, and certainly this douchebag's. Point is, I honestly think there's so much more to Rogue than pose as sexy southern belle in tatters.
But it became Front and Center to her character at that point, alongside with the innuendo that *a man* (be it Magneto or Gambit, btw) would be her solution. That's where AoA's wretched logic comes from, actually. "All she needs is a man's touch".
could touch and, to us fans at the time, this *pairing* came out of fucking nowhere, certainly didn't help. Nor the fact that, after that, whether Rogue could or could not touch *a man* became the biggest problem in her whole life. Yes, yes, I'm aware it was a big issue before,
4) Why?
Because I could relate to Rogue before Savage Land. Her arc, until there, was stellar. And then it wasn't anymore. She became yet another pin up to show T&A for cishet wankers. The fact that she and the old fart had *no* sexual tension whatsoever before he learned they
It was a massive hit, yes. I was *there* when the canon was written. I *might* have, somewhere in my basement, very uxm edition. If I didn’t throw it away, I guess. I may have. I don't know.
Admittedly, it didn't sit well with me then, as it does not now.
Appaled when the strong yet fragile, amazing Rogue was reduced - yes, reduced - to a sexualized "untouchable temptress" to play "love interest" to Magneto, of all people, in the Savage Land. But sex sells, I guess, even more so when it's illustrated by a very inspired Jim Lee.
