Romantic relationships are socially constructed things. They are basically like a special type of friendship. I think one of the reasons people are so worried about things like "emotional cheating" is because there is this idea of a romantic relationship being this categorically unique thing.

I really feel like we have lost an imagination of the future. Like i feel like when people talk about possible futures all we do is call back on lost future. even how current political movements are described still uses language of the past.

I hate nationalism. The only reason any nationalistic movement seems sympathetic is because they have not won yet but if they win which they often don't they just become a new oppressive entity.

I recently saw someone argue that the police are historically progressive because they're a creation of the modern state and only like 200 years old and that's like obviously sorta true but they were using it to defent it and that's so obviously nonsenseical for a communist.

I know it's been said a million times but it's always sad how one inevitably thinks there'll be some final breaking point, some kind of red line that when crossed will lead to social upheaval or something but there just isn't.
