I think they played it lowkey because of the EA buyout backlash. They also pushed back a dev Q&A about getaways and custom venues (which I doubt is even happening anymore) that was originally meant to be the day before the Adventure Awaits release

No they've just been very lowkey about this kit. They didn't even announce it on Twitter until almost an hour after it was out. I suspect it's the buyout backlash

Releasing a kit only a week after an expansion pack was already an absurd idea.

But going ahead with that the week after the EA buyout announcement?! Diabolical. 💀

While I plan on covering The Sims up until the buyout’s actually done next year, I don’t feel like reviewing this kit. Ugh.

Still excited about Paralives, DDV and Sonic. But the stress of making content in a timely way, releases clashing all the time. Beyond the possibility of me stopping doing Sims content, all this may be my ultimate wake up call to not be consumed so much by my online self. I'm a person not a machine.

Ugh.
Filmed a tour of Gibbi Point. It doesn't feel the same recording Sims content anymore. Yeah, the EA buyout isn't *completely* done yet. But even before the news I was already wondering do I shift to Paralives? Combined with where I'm at IRL, there's been lots to think about as is.

To anyone wondering if NPCs can die at custom venues...yes they can. Carmen died at the fitness retreat from overexertion. Grim being his silly self casually hangs out for a while after. Not a bad view out that window! #EAPartner

Not impossible in my mind, even though my headcanon is that "SimEarth" looks quite similar to ours. Maxis probably wants to leave it open to interpretation. We have at least a couple of world maps I think, but IIRC they're inconsistent and could be different sims having differing interpretations

Are the premade custom venues in Gibbi Point supposed to have blank schedules by default? I thought the whole point of them was to have something already set up so you have examples to work with. But even on a new save with mods disabled, still blank schedules. Huh.
