Oui.
At the NATO meeting a loud US republican saw my CDN flag pin on my lapel and reached for it saying, "Hey Canada."
I stopped him.
"Don't touch the Canadian flag."
"Just joking," he said.
"You'll die before you touch our flag," I said, "not joking."
He scrambled out of there.

The best anti-Nazi movies are Inglourious Basterds & Jojo Rabbit, because they kill Hitler. Shoshana and Jojo forever.

A major piece of the puzzle that I see a lot of fellow white people missing is intergenerational dialogue.

I grew up working class & rural but I also grew up with 4 generations under one roof.

History was never far away & so it was easy to learn from.

Your good new story for the day.
I just received a message from a landlord in Florida. He has lost over $30,000 in rentals since Canadians began the boycott.
Canadians are doing their part.
LET'S TAKE THE BOYCOTT INTERNATIONAL.
We invite allied nations to boycott all things American.

Both sides of my family came to work the mines of North Ontario.
My grandfather Charlie Angus came from Dundee and died at the mine before I was born.
His widow Jenny was feisty and fearless.
She taught me my politics and history.
I wrote this song for her.

This brings a tear the the eye of this aging punk rocker.
I played with the Dead Kennedy's at their first gig in Canada.
Their anthem Nazi Punks F--- Off caused bedlam.
I like this song better.

Absolutely. Their goal is to enforce gender roles upon EVERYONE.

Transphobes *know* that logistically policing what bathroom's people can use based on their genitals is not feasible. What they want is to enforce strict gender roles on how we *all* present and dress - emphasis on "force".
I don’t think people who can’t be convinced to care about the lives of trans women grasp the endgame here. The first time a cis woman is unlawfully arrested, or assaulted, for using the women’s bathroom, the response won’t be, “Amend this law.” It will be the very familiar, “What was she wearing?”
I asked the introducer of Nebraska’s anti-trans bathroom bill how she knows I was assigned female at birth. She conceded that she doesn’t know. The reality is, this bill would turn every public bathroom into a battleground where ppl are harassed and reported based on stereotypes.

"The halftime show was boring."

Look, you may not be familiar with the genius of Kendrick Lamar and couldn't quite hear the lyrics and don't know the backstory and the symbolism went over your head, but trust me when I say you'll want to read an analysis of it and rewatch. A true masterpiece.

To those looking to avoid Trumpland I would be remiss if I didn't pitch my own little patch of ground in Northern Ontario.
You would be hard-pressed to find better canoe routes than the Temagami forest.
I host summer tours in the underground silver mine at Cobalt.

Here's a fact most Americans don't know:
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is the largest purchaser of wine by dollar value in the world.
The LCBO has shut the flow of all American beer, wine, spirits.
We will drink "Freedom wines" from our allies and beer from our communities.
