This really does illustrate how ridiculous this is

I'm 24 years old. I have a mortgage and own my own home, and I have a full time job.

But under Cass' recommendations Levy, I wouldn't be trusted with hormones if he decides to consider it.

Shows how ridiculous it all is.
These new figures come in the wake of 2024's Cass Review of gender services for children, which recommended the creation of a 'follow-through service' for 17 to 25-year-olds. Cass said this would help "ensure continuity of care and support at a potentially vulnerable stage in a trans person's journey" and "allow clinical and research follow-up data to be collected". This sparked fears that access to healthcare, such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT) would be restricted or even banned for under-25s -

Part 2 of the Gender Clinic Files is out, looking at the impact if Cass recommendations for adult services were introduced, affecting more than 32k young trans adults just from the current waiting list.

Huge thanks to @wearequeeraf.com & @whatthetrans.com for their work on this series.
Majority of adults waiting for Trans+ healthcare are under 25
Two-thirds of Trans+ people would lose care if all Cass Review recommendations implemented

What Annie says 👏

If EVERYTHING you think you know about trans people has been learnt from social and mainstream media over the past 10 years, and not an actual trans person, it's probably 80% garbage. Talk to a real trans person. Read a book published before 2015. We are anything but new, and We. Are. Going. Nowhere

Sorry your partner experienced that 🫂

Sorry that happened to you in the 90s, I was assaulted once, but compared to what the community faces now, I just felt it was easier then, 2000 - 20012 was good also

It's disgusting by the courts, all because a man felt shame.
Putting this young woman at risk in a male prison. It's sad to think nothing has been learnt since the Vikki Thompson case and 2 others at the same time.
And no learning from the inside gender identity report commissioned for HMPPS

It's got so scary for our community now. And so sorry your dealing with this 🫂

Definitely agree with Natacha and Victoria on this one
Don't get me wrong, it was hard transitioning in 97 when I was 16.
And I was quite isolated, as the community wasn't what it is now 🏳️‍⚧️
But overall it was safer, I was just able to get on and live my life, even when people knew I was trans.

So i wrote a little thing for @divamag.bsky.social to get everyone ready for the reopening of Parliament next week, and up to speed on the status of the imminent ‘trans bathroom ban’ (that also hurts cis women), and what you can do about it.

🚦Get your trans-ally engines ready…
Parliament’s back – and so is the fight for trans rights
“Parliament may be back, but so are those determined to defend equality. If this summer proved anything, it’s that the movement for trans rights never took a break”
