third the trolls were introduced in act 5 and that act not only focused mostly on the trolls but went on for so damn long we were basically stuck reading about those goddamn trolls for almost an entire year which led to a ton of fan content surrounding them

second the trolls had that thing nerds love where there's an in-universe sorting system (blood colors) meaning you can categorize all the trolls into neat little boxes with each one having their own specific cultures along with personality traits

yeah people loved the homestuck trolls possibly due to a variety of reasons

first there were way more troll characters then human ones so if people had a fav character that character would most likely be a troll simply due to how many of them the comic had

my favorite ep is the one where we find out that danny turns evil in the future and kills off most of the human race because all his loved ones tragically died in an accident which screwed him up SO BADLY it prompted danny to go to his archenemy and have him operate on him for Reasons but
