Couple of years ago i lucked into a free oppo BDP-103. I got a plug-in hardware mod to make it code free for $100. Kinda forgot about it over last year, but I just updated the firmware, plugged it in… and it works!!

I most enjoy gintama in large chunks while doing other stuff, so this will be my housework anime over the winter

Two episodes in. I’m liking it alright so far. Still kind of a shallow cast but the leads have improved noticeably. Some amusing tics, too— they keep saying “rotten” with a glottal stop instead of a hard T, and “samurais” instead of “samurai.” It feels somehow appropriate for gintama.

when i was a kid i didn't understand how this worked and i thought every CD that was manufactured had to have a monster put onto it. like they'd go up to ringo starr or whatever and ask him what monster he wants and he'd say "ouhh this DEfinitely has a "Battle Rocks" quality to it! peace and love.!"

The specific itemis this guy. I already have two of em. I got em used off Facebook marketplace a few years ago for even cheaper than this one... but they were light on shelves. I'd LOVE to get more shelves just to make them a little denser.

I... don't think my older ones are Prepac brand, though.

They are very SLIGHTLY fancy. All square cuts, but the bottoms are notched to allow the shelves to sit neatly on their pegs. I'm also wondering if the width is standard, or something exotic. This is just flatpack stuff with veneers, but it'd be nice if it matched, you know?

That leaves me with MORE questions to ask.
1) does the shuttered factory in British Columbia have leftover stock?
2) They're owned by a private equity firm. That firm has an email address, so maybe I can ask THEM for shelves.
3) does anyone else actually make this stuff to the same spec/dimensions

I also asked if Prepact had external suppliers that I could buy from. I think that's a fair question, since we're on a global supply chain.

The manufacturer, Prepact (prepactmfg.com) won't issue me replacements, either. It's a third party sale, so my item isn't covered under their warranty since I didn't buy via an authorized reseller. Also, they won't sell me replacements either.

First of all, the seller hasn't found the lost shelves yet. The frame that they sold me is in great shape, and I am pretty sure I can just cut shelves for it (I am nervous about this, I'm a lousy craftsman) if I need to. Caveat emptor, and all that. But...
