took advantage of this, and watched one last night: the new Shin Godzilla 4k disc from Gkids! Movie has aged well, showing both awesome monster action and hilarious comedy as sclerotic government struggles to address an ever-changing threat. Took some fiddling, but HDR looked amazing!!

Speaking of anime at the movies, my local screening of the Gundam double feature next week has yet to sell a single ticket.
If it was a-list eligible, I would be in. I can’t even joke about sneaking in because if they don’t sell ANY tickets, the screening might get canceled on the day-of!

from a distance, my only complaint now? this dude doesnt really resemble the actual G1 optimus prime/convoy, the one that kojin ono designed for takara back in the day. and i guess he's not supposed to, its a Katoki-esque re-imagining.

It was so popular in LatAm that it got two movies produced in Mexico, for that market...!! and not even all that long ago, either.
