I shall be making small crocheted pandas to put out where young people can collect them, in memory of my friend who died this week. My friend did something similar with knitted teddies and as pandas were her favourite, it seems a no brainer.

British Gas have had to postpone my boiler check this week due to a high volume of emergency call outs. The next appointment was Feb 2026!! Not that you can predict any of this at all.

My friend was loving and kind and intelligent. She made an excellent career for herself after school and travelled the world teaching English. She brought the love of learning and reading to so many young people. Rest in peace, my friend. Rest in peace.

I learned of the death of a friend this afternoon and I am SO ANGRY. Angry at all of it.

Did a breakout room with the teens today, and skirted round the Christmas markets to have a hot chocolate elsewhere. Only had to stop the teens bickering twice, so that's an absolute success!

Coming to watch a young person I know at their university winter music festival, knowing 20 years ago I watched my musical uni friends in the same place, makes me very happy.

I remember hearing people throw slurs around when I was a teen, and I think I must have internalised it, wondering if thats what people thought of me. Im older, and stronger in who I am now, but I am not going to let those slurs go unchallenged when I hear them now.

I'm full of the lurgy and at about 2am, managed to successfully throw a tissue into the bin from my reclined position. I REALLY had to stop myself cheering as I didn't think the Other Half wanted to be woken up!
