He admits in this interview that he, and others, lied in the After Action Review following the Bin Laden raid. I've been telling people that they fed lies into the AAR for over ten years people thought I was nuts. Some of those lies were to support books they had planned to write.
15 goddamn years and people are suing each other over who actually killed bin Laden

These aren't tech-savvy, sophisticated public servants. They're lazy, far-right Fox News viewers who don't understand public administration or how to govern, desperately tapping out "@grok what's the best way to govern?"

They've lost so much of the public's trust and are run by monied interests to the point that there is a need to start over again.
I'm seeing Washington Post reporters post desperately today about the great investigative reporting they do, how valuable it is, etc., thereby implying this is why the paper shouldn't be carved up and killed.

Of course, in doing so, they're demonstrating why the paper must be carved up and killed.

It's beyond tragic that we learned the wrong lessons from history, and twenty years of war. For a lot of these guys, we lost because some liberal pussy wouldn't let them do the whole 'vill.
Coming to the delayed realization that they view a sympathetic population as acceptable targets if they can even be connected by a cobweb to something supposedly shootable

There's another way to look at this. ICE is doing everything the military manual tells you not to do to civilian populations because it creates insurgencies where none existed before.

It's the Umberto Eco thesis about fascists. They think the left is both too weak and too strong. The left are low t soy boys that wear dresses, but they're also gangster ass Marxist sleeper cells with sophisticated planning, coordination, and funding.

whew I bought silver when it was like $15 back in the day. Wish I had held on to it!
I really can’t exaggerate how completely weird this move in silver is. Markets just don’t go parabolic for months at a time. Speaks to the fundamental cause of this move in silver: momentum and nobody with a balance sheet to take the other side of the move.

We were experiencing cultural stagnation (lack of any new thought) before AI came around. Corporations were already flattening and dulling culture for nice docile consumers.

AI-induced cultural stagnation is no longer speculation − it’s already happening
AI-mediated culture is already being filtered in ways that favor the familiar, the describable and the conventional.

Imagine if the Army had a systems crash that "accidently" deleted the Abu Ghraib photos?
And what is happening inside ICE detention centers? 404 Media also learned that the federal government claimed that the day after it was sued for allegedly abusing detainees at an ICE detention center, a “system crash” deleted nearly two weeks of surveillance footage from inside the facility.
ICE Says Critical Evidence In Abuse Case Was Lost In 'System Crash' a Day After It Was Sued
The government also said "we don't have resources" to retain all footage and that plaintiffs could supply "endless hard drives that we could save things to."
