In 2017-2020 I had an alias for making custom toys. What if I rebooted that but instead of aimlessly making customs in hopes of one day making a career I make fucked-up shadow creatures that I have no plans on selling & all the followers there just have to watch in horror as I keep making more

Also, on older writings I've posted, I'm not sure how much I'll port onsite? I think just my favorite one-shots, since many of the OC-centric ones are outdated & I think I'm not over the 'cringe' of some of my older fanfics and would rather leave them out

I think it's fine as a temporary solution, but I wonder if it'd make the Everlogs section too cluttered. But I also don't post writings enough to justify making a new layout right now. So it'd be better to use the pre-existing writing section until I have enough up on there

An idea I've been toying with. I've been meaning to add a writing section to my site, but since I've been stumped on what I wanted to do for a layout for years I'm wondering if I could just add them to the everlogs / blog section in the meantime. Most of the ones I finish are oneshots anyways...

Imo a lot of skills & knowledge can carry over between softwares, just that they'll be in unfamiliar places (it's why photoshop made me mad in college). So I still think it's better to practice w/fossware & alternatives that give these companies more money than they need

Software for work shouldn't be subscription-based. If someone needs to maintain their portfolio they shouldn't have to continue forking over $100s to maintain their knowledge or worry about loosing access during their job hunt.

I'm all in on FOSSware for my art tools btw

I don't think I'll leave or move to another instance yet (tired of migrations + dont want to waste energy on social media anymore), but a reminder that I consider my website my main platform these days. I intend to keep this one as much as I mentally & financially can

If you're curious on the monitor problems:
- cable management
- lack of portability
- more set-up time to get into art
- tablet hogging only HDMI port (& the flickering issues mean I can't use it as a secondary when not drawing)

+ I'm looking at switching back to a pad tablet (think intuos pro / similar?). I'm still more comfortable inking w/a screen, but between budget & frustrations w/monitor-related problems I think I'll be fine going screenless again & just deal with having to slow down on lineart

Out of curiosity, does anyone have tips for searching for drawing tablets second hand? My current monitor's having frequent flickering issues (at the worst possible time!) & I'd like to save if I do end up having to replace it
