Here are my predictions for the Game Awards nominations coming tomorrow.

✅ I can’t believe that game got snubbed either!
✅ That’s not really an indie game!
✅ How did that game get nominated??
✅ No, Geoff isn’t going to acknowledge that thing.
✅ Those games don’t get enough respect.

You ever just remember “oh yeah, Elden Ring exists and I could play that any time I wanted”?

Concerning!
I played the Metroid Prime 4 demo and it’s worrying. Samus has a cold and frequently sneezes all over the inside of her helmet. There’s no way to clean it so you have to wait for the snot to drip off the glass. I hope she isn’t sick for the whole game.

I was just reading a Reddit thread about Activision using gen AI “art” in the new Black Ops games and saw an AI summary of the thread offered to me by Reddit itself.

AI telling me about the problematic usage of AI.

Metroid Prime has some of the best atmosphere in video games as a whole. Really not excited to hear that 4 will have a tutorialization sidekick. I don’t mind it in Mario or Spiderman or whatever, but this is absolutely not the right kind of game for that.

This is my yellow paint moment.

"Rizz Dungeon: Skeleton Key to My Heart"

The only thing better than the title is the subtitle. Amazing.

Huge. Awesome to hear this, the combat was pretty much the most criticized aspect of the game. While I enjoyed it overall, multiple playthroughs are a must for the narrative and this will help with that a lot.
Thank you to all SILENT HILL f players for your patience. Today we've released a patch that adds a new casual difficulty and addresses feedback we've received, including reducing the amount of forced combat areas, speeding up NG+ runs, and bug fixes such as Sakuko's diary in NG+.

The GabeCube seems like a nice option as a budget alternative to a full blown gaming rig, and it will have your backlog, I mean, your Steam library on it!

The new Steam Machine controller is ugly in a nostalgic kind of way. Reminds me of the earlier 2000s era of controllers.

I’m sure the functionality is great

Holy shit! The Game Awards has announced that The Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers developed by Stormfront Studios and published by Electronic Arts for the Playstation 2 has been nominated for Game of the Year!

Gonna keep it a buck, I’m not buying any argument regarding “ethical” gen AI usage and I think it’s good if your game gets points knocked off its score for having it.

Overwatch is such a good example of character design and art style, and was heavily influenced by the international cast and style of Street Fighter. The original cast of heroes is like lightning in a bottle to me. Like, look at this artwork!

Never played Kirby and the Forgotten Land so I’m checking out the Switch 2 version, which retails at $80(!) and is a good example of why my ass is on GameFly now

One of the most common complaints about Pokemon Legends ZA was that the city felt too repetitive, so thankfully the DLC will be introducing us to an alternative version of the same city that looks like the textures haven't loaded in.

Bold move, or literal work in progress? Who can say!

Interesting to think about the kinds of games I feel this way about, and the kinds of games I don't.

Dispatch, for example, is a game I can likely take peoples' word on much easier. Ball x Pit, as well. I suppose it comes down to specific preferences and priorities within genres and styles of games
I'll play The Outer Worlds 2 at some point, but some of the reactions to recent RPGs have shown me that this is the kind of game I really just need to be the judge of myself. Avowed was like this too; some directly comparing it to Skyrim and others yelling about people making Bethesda comparisons.

This is the kind of clickbait I want to see. Don’t make me angry, make me perplexed. I am genuinely struggling to not watch this right now.

I personally see instances like this as testing the water; developers seeing how much they can get away with replacing artists with AI.

The Finals and Arc Raiders have been successful thus far, with Arc Raiders sitting at a 87 Metacritic score with positive player sentiment. Expect more AI!
Arc Raiders' use of AI highlights the tension and confusion over where machine learning ends and generative AI begins
Embark Studios' contradictory statements about generative AI highlight what's sure to be a long-term industry debate.

So, roughly 80% of people that got Mario Kart World paid $50 for it via the bundle instead of the full $80. Doesn’t change the high $80 retail price, but many (including myself) ended up paying less for it than other AAA releases this year and I feel like that’s worth mentioning.
Nintendo Switch 2 shipped 10.36m units as of Sept 30, 2025.

Mario Kart World was bundled with 8.1m units, accounting for 78.2% of total units.

However, an additional 1.47m MKW units were sold outside the bundle, which indicates around 65% of the 2.26m standalone Switch 2 buyers purchased it.

Vampires, who are supposed to be a twisted representation of the blood sucking aristocratic class, are instead typically seen as cool and sexy and people generally just want to be like them or be with them. This is ironic and silly but also important for understanding the world around you.
