Delighted so many are of you could come. Here’s what the film looked like, one year and ten months ago!

Me when I hear graphic designers, translators, writers, musicians, photographers are losing their livelihoods vs me when I hear Mr Beast is feeling threatened.

New Gist: Jim Bows Out

“For anyone who has ever had to deal with a landlord who took their cash this is the stuff of legend. You would let the monkey paw get you for it.

“Who needs a soul?“, Faust would have said as he traded for this outcome.”

It’s usually at the discretion of the producers/broadcaster. Usually only an episode or two in advance, though.

tfw you’re Gloria Estefan and you can’t remember whether or not you left the immersion on.

It is *literally* how television programs have worked since broadcasting began!

That said, I feel like they’re trying to skate around the fact that this is a Irish national broadcaster adaptation of a beloved Irish novel with an Irish cast and crew and the (Irish) reviewer FUCKING HATED IT.

I have no strong opinions on this show one way or the other, but I was amused by this critic’s opening salvo: “RTÉ is releasing this EPISODICALLY? Like, one week after the other?! What next, are we to gather in the square to listen to the town cryer, translate Egyptian hieroglyphics, etc”
Irish Independent review of THE WALSH SISTERS:

“We must start by saying that it is unfair to review a television series on the basis of its first episode.
But we must also make it clear that RTE is releasing The Walsh Sisters one precious episode at a time, drop by drop, like a serialised novel by Charles Dickens…”

And I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and on his horns ten crowns, and on his heads a blasphemous name and I guess it was pretty cool, but I started checking my watch and the beast was like, “Whoa pal, please, I put a lot of effort into this,” and I was like I

It feels frankly insane to scroll social media and see people talking about inane shit in between the worst people in the world succeeding in destroying our collective decency. I know the solution is to unplug. But any time I glimpse online it’s all so dystopian. And the fact we all think this —
