Incredible silent theatre in this cafe as gorgeous, shabby-chic woman with kooky sunglasses, a messy, woolly sweater and a mass of fabulous, natural curls, tries to catch the eye of a guy the table over. Tries to share a smile. He totally BLANKS her. She looks at me. I shake my head. Her face:

I guess it’s a compliment that the top story on BBC London’s TV/online output today is a direct lift of a month-old London Centric story? But once again the BBC is consistently the worst news outlet for actually remembering to credit others.

Although the scale of this is still to be assessed, this is the inevitable outcome of the monetization of the algorithm. Rage-bait becomes a personal revenue model. Nothing about this should be a surprise.
NEWS: I spent the past 24 hours going through major MAGA accounts on Twitter, and a bombshell development has become clear: most of the right-wing ecosphere is being fed propaganda from foreign actors.

This impacts elections. This impacts discourse. This is major. Subscribe to support my work:

Wild that we spend so much time having to confirm we’re human online when all signs point to the industry actually wanting “robots” to do all our tasks.

Every time Spurs get a new manager I think "Ok, this one could be the one" and then they just burn their career to the ground and I love it.

Every single time.

Archetypal example is “capitalism ground me down so I quit my job and set up a small business so that I’m my own boss”. You didn’t dislike capitalism! You disliked authority!

I’m clearly biased but with Amy Lawrence, James McNichols and Art de Roche we clearly have the best squad of writers at the Athletic too.

Don’t seek it out. Don’t curiosity-read it. I saw it by accident through an ad, unbelievably. Everyone has to get better at this. Everyone has to understand what is happening and that the only way to kill it is to ignore it into poverty.
I’m not going to share it because everything is just enragement farming but I’ve just had the misfortune of seeing that appalling, openly homophobic (and at times, racist???) hit piece on Tom Daley in the @thespectator1828.bsky.social by Michael Henderson and these cunts are getting worse, right?

I didn’t realise until MOTD that Eze’s third goal celebration was to ‘threaten’ to take his shirt off and Rice ran over like ‘DON’T!!’ 🤣

Exactly the same as the Iraq Inquiry though: straight in the bin and never spoken of again, not least because none of it would’ve happened this way without the close, hand-in-glove cooperation of the British press. Don’t want to look to hard at that stuff.
