I was planning on doing a Spartan as a mid-year fitness goal, but I've just discovered that they've scrubbed their website of positive mentions of diversity (this article isn't there anymore: web.archive.org/web/20250317...). Anyone have any idea for alternatives? (Or correct me about Spartan?)
6 Incredible Athletes To Celebrate This Pride Month
In honor of Pride Month, Spartan Race looks at the challenges openly gay athletes face and celebrates LGBTQ athletes who have paved the way to progress.

This is how FFT is for me: the adventures of Ramza and his friends Gylbart (the unassailable dragoon), Olyffe (the crass ballbuster), Deryk (the soft geomancer forced to fight), and Ysmeina (summoneress supreme). Battlekin, they can't help but fight amongst themselves occasionally [XP Farming].
I think a lot about this bit by Kazuya Niinou about how an RPG can be one thing on your screen and another thing in your brain

The whiplash you’re gonna get when I pivot from ruminating on our parents mortality to posting an overtly sexual thirst trap. My Bluesky in a nutshell tbu

I loved going on Jamie and Serena's journey in @charliejane.bsky.social's Lessons in Magic and Disaster. Catnip for me: queer witchy story of generational healing with a throughline of literary nerdiness that makes my heart sing. I recommend this book.

Finished @chucktingle.bsky.social 's Lucky Day today. This ride opens so well, and I was catapulted through a cavalcade of cacophonous crazy to a climax that I didn't want to slow down one bit. A bit more gore than I expected. I recommend it.

Profound, charming, and arresting. A bolt through the heart, shocking me and leaving me fried and buzzing. I needed this book, and it's now part of my Canon.

I recommend Anthony Oliviera's (@meakoopa.bsky.social) Dayspring.

The Gift of Therapy by Dr. Irvin Yalom is a cornucopia of helpful insights for both sides of the therapeutic relationship (and for living a good life in relationships). I ended up buying a hard copy for reference, but Don Hagen's narration was a great introduction to it.

Finished Sarah Beth Durst's The Enchanted Greenhouse! A lovely return to this world, I was smitten with the various wonders of the greenhouse and the story of those left behind creating a unique family that blossoms beautifully.

The Family Crucible was a nice time trip back to the adolescent era of Family Systems Theory's development. It was lovely to see some systemic thinking in psychotherapy and to hear the adventure of this family.

(The bygone era of the pipe-smoking therapist sounds so charming.)

The Faggots & Their Friends Between Revolutions by Larry Mitchell is a beautiful message shot across time and space. It's poetry that will sit with me for a long time. May I be deserving of this book and its message.

Less by Andrew Sean Greer was so damn good. Gay comedic travelogue about a writer escaping so he doesn't have to see his old paramour get married, celebrating his 50th birthday and grappling with all of the above. Great writing and deserving of the Pulitzer it's earned.

A top book this year. Like 2024 before it (All Fours by Miranda July), a book about A Woman with Intriguing Inner Monologue Going Through It fueled me well.
Sky Daddy by Kate Folk was a transfixing read. I found myself unable to look away from the slow car crash of this woman's journey toward a plane crash that I found myself rooting for. A great book of 2025.

Psalm for the Wild-Built by Becky Chambers was hearty and delicious! A short read that's a hopeful balm for the current era of burnout and hijacking of purpose.
