Why is BBC news being led by another shooting in an American university of which most here have never heard, & which involves no Brits?

Love David Dimbleby’s series on Monarchy. Tonight it was their obscene wealth. But he missed one aspect :
They are the only people in the UK whose ‘last wills & testaments’ are kept secret from public scrutiny. And they pay no inheritance tax. Wonder what that adds to their fortunes?

They don’t.
Trump: "It was a rigged election. It's gonna come out over the next couple months too, loud and clear. Because we have all the information."

One can only assume that Trump’s vitriol for London’s Mayor is to do with the colour of his skin. Which is rich from the Orange one. But when is Starmer going to defend our Mayor? Trump’s language is intemperate & appalling from a grown man let alone from POTUS.

Spot on. That's why it was so disgusting and cynical of the Leave campaigns in the UK to use the symbols and evocations of WWII in their campaigning.
The EU was created in by people who lived through WWII and saw political and economic integration as a means to bringing peace and stability to the continent.

It is being opposed by Putin, Musk and the others who support Neo Nazis in Europe.

Trump hates Europe’s democracies because they have universal health care, a strong social welfare system and heavy unionization.

He prefers MBS’s Saudi Arabia, where one trillionaire family runs a brutal dictatorship.

What a betrayal of American values!

Starmer accuses the Brexiters of selling Brexit on lies and false promises. He’s guilty of pretence and obfuscation now. The EU won’t trust us or even consider major changes to the current deal if British politicians continue to lie, hedge and mislead. Act like a leader, Starmer. Damnit, man. LEAD.

The EU isn’t the solution to all the UK’s ills, most of which are self inflicted; but Brexit was never the answer either. Instead , it made everything worse, and weakened us domestically and internationally. Stop pretending we can make Brexit work.

Rant alert: Trump’s national security strategy trashing the EU and core values at heart of transatlantic alliance makes it all the more urgent for Starmer to pursue bolder reset with EU. His timidity loses valuable time and risks leaving us even more subject to events rather than shaping them. 🧵

Is the Starmer government getting ready to tear up their Brexit red lines?

We certainly hope so. A Customs Union & dynamic alignment on standards will give the economy a much needed boost.

It needs to happen soon, and the EU will need things in return.

The extraordinary efforts of the D Mail, BBC et al to smear Labour govt with the R Reeves non-story have been quite appalling. DM front page today — HUMILIATED REEVES — with Andrew shoved up the page was horrible but predictable.

Why is the BBC News spending 5 minutes on some explosion in Tenessee? Were any Brits involved? No. So what possible interest is it to us? Is this part of BBC nonsense trying to change focus from Europe to US?
