The United States is now punishing close NATO allies because they oppose him invading and stealing Greenland. The response of the Australian Labor Party and the Coalition is silence, pretend it’s normal and build even more US bases here. They are endangering our national safety.

Bushfires are terrifying and the ones we have already seen across Victoria and Adelaide have caused so much devastation. We can't let this become our normal, we need to act on climate induced disasters and slow the acceleration caused by coal and gas operations.

Finally, one day shy of the one year anniversary of this incident, charges have been laid. I shan’t say any more until the matter has been concluded, but fuck me I feel like I have a lot to say about this.

For some reason that I cannot compute, "every tenth of a degree matters" has become a catch-cry for ending climate targets, dismissing the Paris Agreement as outdated and moving climate discourse centre-right.

This is so wild to me. We set targets *SPECIFICALLY BECAUSE THE INCREMENTS MATTER*

Albanese “I am surprised that anyone could walk into parliament & vote against…”
— a national gun buyback
— closing loophole allowing non-citizens to get gun licence
— strengthening customs to stop dangerous imports.

Yes it will say a LOT about anyone who can’t support this.

Making these things un-turn-off-able is an extremely fundamental core component of the entire industry. It is the same reason you cannot choose between buying yoghurt with single-use plastic or without it.

You cannot fabricate demand for a wasteful, harmful thing without making it mandatory
Dammit, tech companies. The only think I need to know about your awesome AI feature is how to turn it off.

"companies such as Apple and Google seem to be counting on their “No comment”s being buried by whatever scandal comes next. They are banking on a culture in which people have given up on demanding consequences"
There is a crisis of impunity. The Musk/Grok stuff is just one f many examples of people who are counting on there never being any consequences. And it all makes me just incandescently mad.

The part I came close to losing it:

Drove the client with the mail they’d received from Services Australia about the compensation settlement in the Robodebt class action to a Services Australia agent, and they said, and I quote:

“What’s Robodebt?”

Did you notice how people stood against Israel on such a scale that the corporate world clamped down?

YouTube deleted war crime evidence. Social algos silo truth. Owned politicians outlaw protest speech. Police assault protesters. Media covers up the crime.

Know your enemies.

The idea that we simply have to kill off a bunch of animals because it's a net benefit to climate is a false dichotomy that serves corporate interests trying to avoid having to put in the effort of finding good, well-chosen sites

Really wish media would consider breaking through this thinking
Climate a bigger threat to biodiversity than renewables, experts say
