Steatoda borealis! before i had watched @travismcenery.bsky.social 's video on false widows, i never realized that their venom could potentially pack a wallop (albeit ultimately harmless) if they wanted it to. i regularly handle these to release outside and thankfully i've never had an incident ❣️

i was SO extremely excited to get the notif for this video, OMG!! my very first encounter with a jumping spider was a super gravid, super curious and sweet female tan jumping spider! she was massive and so proud of her big fly catch (see pics)! it's so amazing to see this species get some love ❣️🥹

Platycryptus undatus, the first jumping spider i've ever met! he was on a pkg that was outside for a few hours w a fly in his mouth. he crawled around my bed, i took some pics, then let him go. i wanted to keep him, but decided not to. also my 1st attempt to handle, but he didn't go for it #spiders
