NSF GRFP results are out, I didn’t expect them to actually get processed—so I was decently pleased at getting honorable mention. Better than what I got the first time I applied. And congrats to everyone who did get it!

My PhD will not be in internet communications but if it was, I’d have a whole chapter on what people making memes about big news events signifies about humor, community, helplessness vs hope, etc.

Just the other day I was trying to tell someone that I would rather write/edit my paper myself instead of using ch@t gpt—sure it can make prose sound more professional, but what matters is making sure the words are communicating *exactly* what I want to say.
