I put it in a reply, but I want to pull it out: even if Jazz voters broke for Fateh at the same rate as Davis voters, Fateh still loses

My math shows that would've pulled Fateh to a 1,463 deficit, making it Frey 47.9% to Fateh 47%

Not calling out the original poster. It's a genuinely interesting

A fair number of people who voted for Jazz Hampton and DeWayne Davis had Jacob Frey as a second choice. He got 12k second choice votes, Omar Fateh got 19k.

As always - grateful for all of the people who stepped up to run to try to make our state’s largest city better!

"These kids were literally praying. It was the first week of school. They were in a church." - Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey right now talking about the mass shooting at Annunciation Catholic School. "I'm so deeply saddened and so sorry."

City of Minneapolis says the shooter is "contained" - sources tell @wccoradio.bsky.social the shooter is dead.
First day of school at Annunciation Catholic in South Minneapolis at 54th Street was Monday. Online schedule shows an All-school mass at 8:15am today. Pray for those kids + families.
I’ve been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School and will continue to provide updates as we get more information. The BCA and State Patrol are on scene.

I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence.

And naturally, after re-skeeting this bold take, the fair announces a Monday record of 145,022 beating the 2017 record by about 500 tickets.
Tickets for 5 = $100. You’d prob spend $200 on food/rides. I think @mauratwit.bsky.social is right on.

It’s an inflation story too: labor costs, food cost, insurance, it’s all up.
I think the fact that we’ve had the most gorgeous perfect days and the state fair attendance is no where near breaking records…is a recession indicator.

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around $5 ear of corn.
