Instead of projected free agent & trade acquisitions for each team, I'd love to do a thread on projected budgets of each team in this new TV revenue era. Which teams are shaving payroll? Which teams are staying put? Which teams are adding about ~$20m, ~$40m, ~60m, ~80m and roughly $100m+?
I trust David Stearns. If he thinks Winker should play 1B to start the season, I'm good with that.

The Mets will have a combined $28m invested in the DH position in 2025 in Marte and Winker that will be coming off the books next offseason.

Along with the Boyd signing, this seems to be the price of middle-to back of the rotation arms, especially ones with upside. Montas may need to be even more of a cutter, splitter, slider guy to focus on more of his best stuff. No QO attached & just 2 years (or 1 year if he excels) so not a big risk.
Curious to hear @jasschishomie.bsky.social ‘s thoughts on the Montas signing. Hope all is well!

But you only need to add players you think other teams will keep on their rosters all year and Alex Ramirez was probably a super long shot even as a hyped prospect.

Last night's fight on Netflix perfectly encapsulates today's America. Widespread fraud and clown shows consumed by the masses because they're bored and need a distraction no matter how perverse.
That fight (which I didn’t watch) is a perfect example of the dumbing dumb of American society. People would rather watch a YouTube scammer and a 60 year old fight than two legitimate boxers in their prime. Everything is now cheap theatrics. One big tabloid society.
